@TheNaz1k Dude, you're kind of leaving out the jist of the rule which- to paraphrase- says if a fighter touches the floor with his hand or knee as the result of a punch it's a knockdown. A slip, a push, neither counts as a knockdown. I think we all get that, the argument can only be whether the touch was the result of a punch. That being said, this probably was a knockdown despite the fact that Vlad wasn't really hurt and was off balance.

Klitschko had won four rounds to two at time of the stoppage. His chin is solid (been tested a number of times in the past, and by bigger punchers than Wlad) and his conditioning is also excellent. His defense is the only thing that lets him down, but not badly. If he lands a clean right hand on Wlad then he'll knock him out. Lamon Brewster did and Haye punches WAY harder!!!

I'm british so support Haye all the way and at least he is capturing the imagination of boxing fans. Its the first time in a number of years that the heavyweight division has been interesting. I haven't questioned Wlads talents as such, but he is known for a lot of things ahead of his punching power. His solid jab, his frustrating style, his workrate etc. The fight really could go either way and I wouldn't want to single out who I think will win as it really is a 50-50. I want a Haye win for obvious reasons, being British etc...

It aint going to the scorecards we both know that.. even if it does, the Germans gave the nod to Haye against Valuev when most of the British commentators actually had Haye losing. Also all loyalties aside , i actually thought macklin lost in a super close fight. Germans aint as bad as the French or Italians and to some extent the decisions given here have been more fucked up then in Germany.

I say it's not really a knockdown. Wlad has actually been knocked down 3 or 4 times I think, but here his knee didn't look like it actually touched. He went down on his gloves because he lost balance, but he got up. So what.
@Gidenkidenk Boxing rules = Anything other than your feet touch the canvas (Gloves/Knees in the vid) its a knockdown, unless the fighter was pushed or dragged to the ground. He took a right hand when he tried to do his lean back evade thing he always does and got knocked back because of it, sure it was partly because he put himself in such a horrible stance when he took it that made it effect him so much. But there is nothing in the rules that say that this wasnt a knockdown.
Lennox was down on all the judges score cards in that fight til they stopped it from Klitschko's bad cut. He was completely dominating your god(lol) Watch it again and see.

@TheNaz1k Dude, you're kind of leaving out the jist of the rule which- to paraphrase- says if a fighter touches the floor with his hand or knee as the result of a punch it's a knockdown. A slip, a push, neither counts as a knockdown. I think we all get that, the argument can only be whether the touch was the result of a punch. That being said, this probably was a knockdown despite the fact that Vlad wasn't really hurt and was off balance.

Klitschko had won four rounds to two at time of the stoppage. One notable case is Henry Cooper against Muhammed Ali (Twice!) The rules of boxing states that if you are deemed unfit to continue from cuts made by punches, you lose by TKO. Simple as that . I haven't questioned Wlads talents as such, but he is known for a lot of things ahead of his punching power. All I said was that Wlad had done the same! The trash talking doesn't really bother me as they all do it nowadays. Agree about Wlad being nowhere near Tyson and Ali, in terms of selling fights AND quality! It was clear that Wlads tactics were to go for points (aren't they always?). Haye needed a KO from the start and he knew it.

It aint going to the scorecards we both know that.. even if it does, the Germans gave the nod to Haye against Valuev when most of the British commentators actually had Haye losing. Also all loyalties aside , i actually thought macklin lost in a super close fight. Germans aint as bad as the French or Italians and to some extent the decisions given here have been more fucked up then in Germany.

@AlexiusMoore did you watch the macklin fight then? sturm took maybe only 1 of the first 6 and the spanish and puerta rican judge gave him the fight by 4 rounds? the american ref gave it macklin by 2 which is how i had it but that trying to be generous to sturm. BUt i think i will agree i would be shocked to see haye vs klitschko go the the distance. oh and dont suggest valuev won against haye, tell me which round he landed a decent/clean punch in lol?

@anglorob The fight was super close and close enough for me to score it to either guy. Some of the judges were way off. but Sturm was the champion and was in his back yard did enough to defend it
The valuev fight was awfull, barely anyone landed anything, Valuev did land shots. and i'm not suggestin Valuev won, i'm tellin you that English commentators had haye losing but he got the nod so obviously the decision wasnt a bad one was it. @Gidenkidenk Boxing rules = Anything other than your feet touch the canvas (Gloves/Knees in the vid) its a knockdown, unless the fighter was pushed or dragged to the ground. He took a right hand when he tried to do his lean back evade thing he always does and got knocked back because of it, sure it was partly because he put himself in such a horrible stance when he took it that made it effect him so much. But there is nothing in the rules that say that this wasnt a knockdown.

Watch the tape without bias and you will see what I am talking about....Klitschko was holding on to Lewis quite a bit near the end....Lewis nailed him with a great shoot to the forehead in the last round fought, Klitschko fell into Lewis and they both rolled along the ropes...the HBO guys said Lennox was going to fall...yeah from the weight of Klitschko!!
