It's really dissapointing the people waited for more than 2 years for a netbook killer and Apple provided an oversized mobilePhone OS tablet with old hardware and old output display. Instead Apple could have done a modern tablet with a full OS (Mac OSX or Leopard) nice graphic cards (NVidia ION 2 uses little battery with great performance) and more memory (2GB). This first version of the iPad just a big mistake.

@strongbad73 - not really. They are doing an update and a new phone that say it can make 2 things at once, but its actually not really multitasking. Reports so far say that the "multitasking" apple presents is actually onlt 2 programs running, but only one at a time. When you shift from one program to the other, the first program halts until you return to it. But i could be wrong. Would be nice if Apple came back from the 80's.

This absolutely needed stylus support imo because without it it's just a big media viewer and I actually wanted a tablet for things like drawing and painting, taking notes, writing documents etc.

A camera really should have been in there too.

Also, the ipad does not have much use for Flash because they have they're own games and for videos that play online, there is a new HTML that is developing that does not require flash to play flash enabled videos online anymore.

people who don't have an ipod touch or an iphone dont know the potential of the ipad. mainly thanks to the app store w/ free apps and more to the point RICH apps. I use my ipod touch at least 70 -80% of the playing games/ gps/ recording lectures/ and all the other apps that make my life easier. as yu can see the ipad runs apps very well, iwork is nicer than other tablets word, you can play real games on this. With 3G imagine what this can do for you everyday. PLUS ITS REALLY THIN!!!!!!!

i've had my share on apple stuff. i'll skip to the main point though. my mom is on her third macbook pro, due the the random breakage?, but Apple charges way to much for repairs. They don't have many ports, and my moms always just shuts off randomly and sometimes loses her work :[ I don't trust macs. Other apple products? I've had "okay" experiences. I will say that they have awesome cameras on their mac books though.

The poor quality of Macs is not an isolated issue, dude. For two years now, truckloads of iMacs and Macbooks have been shipped back for everything from D.O.A. units to piss-yellow screens, screens with lines in them, defective video cards, cracked monitors, class-action lawsuits for Apple lying about battery life. The worst thing is, some of the lawsuits stemming from these problems were ignited from Apple REFUSING to fix some of these issues.

Macs are nowhere NEAR top-quality.

Well I've never had problems with iPhone battery life... usually lasts a day for heavy usage and a few for light usage. Never had to deal with crashes due to native apps, but some third party apps are poorly designed, and they crash more. And speaking of apps, there are a whole lot of productive apps for professionals. Maybe not for you... sorry, no porn or second life.
