My family is also Dutch, is so nice to have the words in Dutch printed on the screen.
They both did so much for the children in this world, and for peace, all for what is needed to help people, animals, nature alive and well! The two of them were so unique! What a pair, giving so much love, giving so much! I really respect them both, and remember John for what he stood for, more than his music. As he said that is how he wanted to be remembered...not for his music. To him, music was a gift .

So ironic, both died in 1997, but maybe they're now reunited?
maybe they're standing at the pacific grove. Jaques asking John what went wrong at oct 12th en John's asking if Jaques didn't prefer to die at the ocean....
It's really an irony that John died in the ocean and Cousteau on land! Thanks, Earthlinked, for sharing that info. Also, about them both leaving the same year. I guess their work was finished.
Message to: Earthlinked. You're absolutely right. I never realized that until you wrote it here. I remember John's death. I was onboard a ship while serving with the U.S. Navy. We were heading for Japan. I heard the news over the radio and I didn't want to believe it. His songs, sung to myself while on many midnight watches aboard ship, brought me home when I was thousands of miles away. My little sister was killed at five years old and John was one of her favorites. I'll always love his songs.
God I remember that like it was yesterday. I remember when John Denver went aboard the Calypso. It was like a special that ran for a few weeks, if I remember right. Regardless, I remember him going aboard.
Sadly, there are those who still deny that global qarming is a real issue. I am living proof that it is!!
See, as the polar caps are melting, and the Earth's temperature is increasing, that hot air forces me to get up and make one more trip to the fridge to grab another cold BEER!! I have the gut and the beer tab to prove my point!!
The answer to this problem is more social spending. We need BEER vouchers!!
Calypso is in a french shipyard, and going to be restored to her former glory after being sunk and then left rotting in another port for many years. This took time due to disputes who owned her!
In the spring of 1980 when I was a senior at Harvard I organized a speech John gave on world hunger. I was a huge fan. I remember going to the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge to meet him. He came down in the big glass elevator and I was on cloud nine. We drove over to harvard in his limo and I was just kinda staring at him and he looked at me and said, "what??" I wish I could have said to him, "I feel right now the way you felt meeting Jacques Cousteau..."
I'm an old warrior. I would like to see Jacgue's dream come true. I'm tired of fighting. I have 6 grandchildren. I don't wan't them to do the things I had to do. No one should do what I did. Ahh, hell, I had too much to drink. =Stefan=

This was 1985 - at Cousteau 75th birthday. (He was born in 1910)
Both Cousteau and Denver died in 1997 - oddly enough - Cousteau died on land in his home near the French Alps - and Denver died in the ocean!!

RASMISS,
not only Hollywood is that hypocrite, in my country you can take drugs, be gay and lazy, then the people vote you for superstar.
