This film, 500 Nations, is mostly about North America but does include the Mayan and Aztec people. In the U.S. they're referred to as either Native Americans or American Indians. Either one is right but most prefer American Indian to Native American. They're officially called Indian reservastions, The Bureau of Indian Affairs, and so on. Native American is a much broader term which includes any indigenous people of the Americas, and now including Hawaiians who are not quote Indians.
