I am quite surprised that an organ of this size doesn't have some sort of 32' principal or resultant of some sort. otherwise I think this is fantastic
@AandCorganlovers That`s quite normal on a baroque style organ. It`s build by a dutch organ builder, i think that in total in the whole of the Netherlands we have about 20 32' stops, no more. This type of organ doesn`t need a 32' stop, too bombastic
When you make another record of a pipe organ in a big church with reverb, please place the microphones closer to the organ. This record sounds like a live concert, also an intention, but probably not the intention you had in mind.
@GerardvanR I rather think we are too accustomed to the clinical, clean, sleek and artificial sound of the commercial 'CD' or 'DVD' these days. I quite welcomed this recording with all of its 'live' elements; tis music in its natural habitat, per se.
While I agree the sound of the stops is great, I really don't agree with this registration. This sounds something like Mozart's Clock pieces. Bach may have played relatively small organs for his church posts, but he most certainly had a Grand Orgue in mind for his organ music.
I have listened to all of these posts and this is my favorite by far! How marvelous the instrument and acoustics! And how articulate is the organist! Heavenly!
A bit too inaccurate, a bit too slow and too much legato throughout, apart from the registration choice with which I don't quite agree.
Poor, I'm afraid.

the reverb is not a problem. churches are supposed to have reverb otherwise it sounds too dry. i am organist and i love reverbs

How interesting that the registration can turn everything upside down.

The stops are insufficient for this festive work.
Also, the treble is heard well but everything beneath is hardly discernable.
Practice?
Nice photo. Would be nice to see other views.

He should have played this in an "organo pleno"registration, far more suitable for this festive composition!

I think this might be David Arcus playing. :)

Very odd stops used here, you can hardly hear the base tones.
