  • i'm only 11 and i love shrinky dinks. i made a perry the platypus one from scratch. i just used those cookie holder things and drew the design on it and i put it on a keychain

  • I liked it when they would come alive and talk to me. No? Just me?

  • Our oven didn't have a light or a window on the front, so Shrinky Dinks weren't as much fun for us...Never got to watch them shrink! We'd take them out of the oven and say "OK...Um...now what do we do with it?"

  • AW MAN! Shrinky Dinks these were awesome! My brothers and I had so much fun with these. One year we made Christmas Tree decorations and 35 years later I think my mother still has them somewhere. Erector sets, Spirograph, Lite Brite, Colorforms, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys the 70's had some great toys. Oh to be young again

  • Thumbs up if you used to "shrinky dink" crisp packets when they were still the right kind of plastic.

  • "Happy birthday Mom." Gee thanks. Guess what you're getting this year for YOUR birthday.

  • I remember when Shrinky Dinks were popular. I was 7. Now it seems enlarging pills are popular.

  • I had them When I was little and they Really Works. you can Find them on Ebay

  • Sounded dangerous. And I agree with dirtypillow27.

  • i'm sure the fumes it left in the oven where toxic

  • we did these in my 7th grade art class last year and we used a toaster oven so when the teacher left for 5 minutse we made penis's and they were still in when she got back and she was like WTF ARE THESE!

  • @RCcarL0V3R Typical. Just typical. Leave it up to kids today to make penises instead happy birthday trinkets.

  • @chickenpoodle009 lol before i made a gift for my dad that was his company logo sooooo im not all bad =]

  • @RCcarL0V3R Okay, that's not that bad. I'm in seventh grade, and we would have probably done the same thing LOL

  • @chickenpoodle009 Miniaturization... if not the kids then the Chinese!

  • Yes burning plastic in the oven after coloring it with pencils used to be an American tradition. And yes we were weirder back then.

  • we didnt have cell phones to text or x-boxes or anything of that nature,we had to make our own fun more or less. These were one of these things that were fun to play with on a rainny day because you could'nt go outside

  • @Angel4046 ah yes when we had to use our imaginations, reminds of that scene in the movie Back to the future part 3.. you mean you got to use your hands?....

  • Shrinky Dinks were fun. I found some in an old box of stuff recently and flipped out.

  • LOL OMG I HAVE ONE! not from the 70s but I have Shrinky Dinks! Anyone know what kind of paper/plastic thing the machine uses? Mine still works and I wanna make some but I have no more ):

  • @animefangirlxx You can buy the shrinky dink film at craft stores like Michael's and places like that. Used to go there to buy the stuff to share with my son. I was so much fun to relive my childhood with my kid this way.

  • I loved Shrinky Dinks!!!!

  • ..I had colorforms when i was a child in the 70's....i also had a spiralgraph and paperdolls(LOL)...Loved my 70's toys! ;)

  • WARNING YOUR OVEN MAY GO BOOM

  • Colorforms are so awesome! I play an online game where you collect stickers and you can display them on a background just like Colorsforms!!! If you want the link, just message me!!! :) :) :) :)

  • thats pretty cool

  • They have a cure for Shrinky Dinks now. It's called Viagra!

  • WOW I LOVE Shrinky Dinks. I had the Batman one. Also used to find big pictures in my comic books to trace. Great times. I miss the 70s.

  • loved them!!!

  • Phillitupp, you WOULD have spent your little money or begged your mom to buy you some just like every other kid did back then if you grow up in that era. There were no XBox's back then junior. I played with creative toys. And yes, they get smaller hence the name "Shrinky Dinks". Lol

  • What! it get smaller? why would i pay for something that ends me up with less?

  • @phillitupp Because, you can make a good detailed drawing, then have a tiny detailed drawing, which looks very cool. I just made several ones with troll face and nyan cat and such.
