These barrels are hard to come by these days in many areas. Food manufacturers now have agreements with recycling companies and no longer will even sell you barrels, let alone give them away.
I think loganv means is that a filter won't cut it, you also need a chemical purifier (like iodine tablets) to make the water compleatly safe. Anyway, love your vids. Always useful.
@thetommy1903 I've drank many a gallons of disgusting muck filled stagnant mud water filtered through Katadyn Water filters. If they can handle that, they can definitely handle what comes off a roof!
glad to see you posting here again. are you still working on the rabbit raiseing videos am going to try raiseing rabbits myself soon and can never have to much info on a subject i think
@187plumber LOL, never stopped posting videos here. Real life, computer issues, living this stuff, problems with slow internet connections and software do slow things down though. I never was looking to go the route others went with a high quantity of low information quality vids.
Their has been almost a dozen "unlisted" videos made also that are available only on the forums, mostly weapons training related, ground fighting, etc. If anything, I've been putting out MORE vids than ever b4!
You mention putting the water straight into a Katadyn or Berkey filter. This water will _need_ pre-filtering prior to a final filter like a Katadyn or Berkey.
@loganv0410 Why do you think that? The screen on the top of the barrel will catch the leaves and larger residual crap. Let me know your rationalization on that if you would. TIA
@TheGrayman1234 Thanks for watching. Yep we are both still around and putting out videos. Been putting a lot of private videos out for the forums at Survivalandpreparedness DOTcom also.
Never had a leak or even a "leek" from using caulk around the bored hole on that or any other one made like this. Their was no bung hole on this type of barrel.

Y didn't you use a bung in the hole. if you used a bung there would be no need for that calk that will let it leek all over
