Saved my comment for last one. But, Thank you for posting all these! I grew up watching this every Christmas. It's just not Christmas unless we watched this. Now, this year will be Christmas again! :)
I see. The biggest thing I really noticed was the music and video from the non-animated section of the special. I never watched the full video of Disney's Christmas Gift, because it seemed to similar to A Disney Channel Christmas, and A Disney Channel Christmas is what I grew up watching. Good to know, though. I'll have to check out Disney's Christmas Gift now that I know that. :)
They also did another remake of this video called "A Disney Christmas Gift", which features most of the same cartoons, and some new, it has no host, but the intro is the same (the song with the tree and Christmas decorations).
@oneangrysoldier "A Disney Christmas Gift" was not a remake, it was actually made a year before this. The intro from that was used in this. The two specials are actually pretty different in their format, even if they share a few of the same cartoons.
When I was little I watched Mickey's Christmas Carol. It was watered down a lot compared to the George C. Scott version which used to scare the daylights out of me. It was Jacob Marley that I was afraid of. In this I just love the idea of Goofy being Jacob Marley.
I had completely forgotten about this special and I don't quite remember how I even found this. This brought back so many memories! The ending song to this is so magical and nostalgic. Thanks so much for posting this! It was a fun trip down memory lane. :)
I found it kind of scary rather than funny. Several place a silence follow by sudden movements or a face pop-up. It's worth to see it but I feel it too strong for a kid. I am 19 but I did got a little bit scared at several points. Nice animation in 3D.
I've seen that new version and yes it is a bit scary at some parts, but back then A Christmas Carol was not originally made for children. Then again it's natural for kids to be scared of something once in a while. I personally thought those dark scenes made the film believable into opening up someone's eyes to what a greedy miser's selfish choices can cause.
Aw the ending warms my heart so much that I can feel my eyes becoming teary. So many good memories these old specials bring to me and everyone who has grown up watching them.

Disney was really good with these holiday specials back in the 80's. This one and the Disney Halloween are the best.

Anyone see the new A Christmas Carol?

@gameskyjumper There is nothing wrong with scaring kids. Back when we were young, we've seen all types of scary and dark kids films.
