She was really beautiful. Loved the pictures with her paws in the pool. My GSD´s passed away in 2007 and I still think about them everyday. <3

Thanks for the kind words Meezermagic, sugarvocals and Superherns! Yes Meezermagic, a replacement did eventually come.. Her name is Sasha and i'm going to try to attach her video here. though not quite the same as petra.. they both seem to embody the aloofness of a GSD which is seem to be drawn too.

Petra was very beautiful. I'm glad you had 10 years with her. You'll never forget her. I hope, in time, you'll get another Shepherd in her honour. GSDs are addictive - when you've loved one, nothing else will do.

thank you for this... I had a beautiful GSD and my ex kept her just to spite me. This dog loved me and I loved her dearly an dI often wonder how shes doing. I miss her soo much. Very loyal dogs and I had no idea Petra was a popular name for a german sheperd. Your dog is beautiful and they have away of making these poses that are so classic and you just want to take a picture of them. Such beautiful faces. beautiful video!

No you can't. HDB only allows toy breeds. They don't even allow mongrels as their sizes vary too much. We took a risk with Petra for a couple of months

Hi Sorry for the acronym, HDB is an abbreviation for Housing and Development Board... its the name of state housing in Singapore where majority of the population live. The rules for keeping dogs in such flats/apartments is that the animal cannot be taller than 40cm off the ground and has to be a toy breed.

It's very tough losing a dog, ecpecially one so loyal, trustworthy, loving, and like a best friend to you. I've lost 2 Golden Retrievers and they were mother and son. Maggie (the mother) and Sherman (the son). We lost Sherman on his birthday. In Febuary I think it was maybe 5 years ago. We have a diabetic dog right now and she's gonna be the next to go but I've grow so close to her! She and I are a year apart in human years. Her B-day is on Christmas day adn we saved her from a shelter.

However recently the people at Youtube informed us that we were infringing on copyright and we had to change the music. This current soundtrack is the closest i could find that was on the right side of the law.... i'm still searching for an appropriate tune... (musicians out there?) I share your sentiment. I grew up with my family in the Philippines always having dogs/cats. Just muts and same with cats - strays we adopted or they adopted us. Something in their eyes, the beauty (purity?) of their soul. Petra was special and thanks for sharing her slideshow!

Thank god for people like you who gave Petra such a lovely, loving and lasting home to live, love and be loved. My gsd is very ill, a male, 10 years old and the light of my life. Your tribute echoes what i am terrified will happen but what i know will come one day. I love him- my Jacob

It looks like she definately had the time of her life with a very loving family!!! You cannow run free in the fields at the Bridge with many of the others who wnjoyed the time of their lives.

I too lost my dearest Jarrett (also a GSD) July 2007. I cry nearly every day missing him but I know he is free of pain and suffering. I hope you too feel she is in a wonderful place awaiting your arrival free of "age".

What a lovely dog. I lost my own GSD, Shelby, on Friday, I feel your pain because it is my own. Thank god for people who love german shepherds.
