  • i only listen to this stuff because my teacher tells me too other wise i wouldn't. but theses guys have made an exception. sort of

  • this is the full video

    /watch?v=ckspTiDpThk&feature=related

  • they have no bassoon they have 2 oboes though

  • For the Percussion , especially xylophone thats like a work out for them

  • Junior high what.

Why couldn't more of my bandmates have been this intense and into their playing?

  • @KaraMayonakaSora hey here's the full video . go watch /watch?v=ckspTiDpThk&feature=related

  • These kids are in middle school? Honestly, if they are playing grade 6+ literature in junior high, where are they gonna go from there? Someone's going to have to invent a grade 7 or 8 or something just for these kids.

  • I doubt there is a Jr high band ANYWHERE in the USA that could play this well.

  • @InBy9OutBy5 There are none. Its the mentality of Japanese Bands that make them so good. Thousands of years of DO OR DIE!!!

  • WOW

  • Omg! Japan is good at this o_o

They are good at everything :D

  • the flute players make me sound lika an ameture. xD

  • the flute players make me look lika an ameture. xD

  • Holy crap! These kids are really good! ...I'm going to go practice now ;)

  • They're fantastic. Gosh they make American bands look like pre-schoolers.

  • These woodwinds and girl on the xylo are SNAPPIN on these runs!!! GET IT!!!

  • woah!!!! thats awesome!

  • My university debuted this piece and WE couldn't play with this kind of technique and musicality..... WOW!!!

  • I agree that its phenomenal, but the only reason that they're so good is because they practice it all year. My band director even said that we could do that if we practiced it the whole year, and we're only in 7th grade.

  • @xThunderdoodle Then you guys must be amazing. Yes maybe with a year of practice you could learn to play the notes, but that's not all it takes. The musicality of the band is phenomenal! The excellence of this performance is achieved by the excellent work ethic of the ensemble and the dedication of each individual member, not just the amount of time that these kid spent practicing.

  • the only thing i could dislike about this video, is how JR high students are better than me. I've been playing tuba for 16 years, and bass trombone for 10. These kids are all BAMFS

  • The percussion is FANTASTIC!!!

  • @Trumpetogal37

Shelby, you're hilarious. These kids are pretty epic too.

  • They are students of japnese ordinary public junior high school.

  • Are you kidding me????? There's a freaking 11/16 time signature.... My god being in this band must take some discipline and talent..... I can't believe how fast the trombones removed the mutes. That must have taken an entire practice to get down the technique in doing so!!!!!!

  • @Windyfur trust me it does

  • da fuck. junior high????

  • please excuse me while i go change my pants.

  • 高校生より上手い!!

  • I bought this DVD at Midwest in Chicago two years ago. A definite standard-setter for middle school/junior high aged bands! One particular note: the bands on these discs primarily played excellent transcriptions of orchestra repertoire. This is one of the few works originally written for band on there. As much as the quality of literature for young bands has risen, it can hardly compare to Mozart, Bartok, and Respighi. A must own!

  • Sound, was fantastic!!! Very synchronised.

  • But they don't have double reeds...

  • @LeDairyQueen Yeah they do, They have a Oboe, but no Bassoon, o:

  • 0:37 seconds best mute removal ever!

  • Woah.... and I thought our middle school was good.... Man... I wanna go to Japan.

  • @mygarage95 me.... =/

  • @mygarage95 me too... =/

  • Harrison's dream is an extremely difficult piece, good job for these kids

  • Um, wow.

  • awesome! it was funny at :19 when the entire clarinet section moved the same way!

  • In looking on the bravomusicinc website, I couldn't tell if the DVD's were offered in Region 1 coding, or they were all in Japan's standard (I think region 2). Would anybody there know the answer to this? Unless the DVD's are in region 1 code, I could only play them a limited number of times before they hard-coded my player to the DVD's region code. Thanks for any reply.

  • @unidaddy - All of the DVDs are world-consumable (O region) playable on any type of machine.

  • Seeing their performance reminds of of how puny our high school's band program is. With barely a third of their people and barely a tenth of their budget, we can only dream of getting things like a harp and all those elaborate percussion that I've never seen before. But the main problem lies within ourselves; WE ARE WAY TOO CAREFREE ABOUT MUSIC. The attitude of the entire band is too willy nilly, we don't take music seriously at all.

  • Amazing. Such a great team work.

  • The only thing I could complain about would be not getting more of this performance on the clip!! FANTASTIC. These kids exhibit utmost energy, artistry and professionalism. I especially appreciate the technique of managing the incredibly quick mute changes in the trombones and trumpets in order to avoid them clunking to the ground if dropped. Terrific performance (as are all the ones I've heard from these competitions). An inspiration to music education programs everywhere (I hope)! Thanks!

  • Uni-All of these clips are available in full-length collections of usually 10 performances per DVD, with remarkable consistency between bands. Search the product number and US distributor Bravo Music.

  • @unidaddy I totally agree!!!! =D

  • BRAVO
