  • I had a 1975 Kawasaki S1C 250 that I bought in 1978 that had slightly more power than the KH. It was faster than anything around at the time in a straight line but it didn't like going fast round corners like the Yamaha RD 250 of the time. But it sounded a hell of a lot better when you opened the throttle. One thing that the KH improved on was the introduction of a front disc brake that actually worked, unlike the S1C that faded when it got hot so you missed your turning lol Happy days.

  • @cashman156 you're spot on...the kh 250 had a sound that stood out from the rest...and they were such fun.. I owned a 1975 model in the 80's..I named it 'Connie'.. I went to Holland on her and she never missed a beat.

  • The sound...the smell... the chrome... the sheer beauty of these great 70's bikes all individual models back then, I used to be able to tell you what bike it was by the sound, or the shape of the clocks, the lights etc.... now they all look the same, I'm not interested in doing 180mph on a race rep missile on 2 wheels' with no class !! (old git and proud of it !)

  • Went through 2 stroke oil at one hell of a rate and petrol ,you lost the centre pot in the rain and the points x3 another problem. But very quick in the 70's and no other bike sounds like them, with a bit of a tune a RD woulndnt keep up with one

  • sounds nice...thanks for up load

  • I boughty the KH250 B4 in 1980. Great bike, great noise. My mate had a Suzi GT250. The bikes had character then, they just all look and sound the same now. I remember when we could tell if it was a super dream, a cbx 1000, or a Z1R by the sound, in the dark, and from a mile away lol. Great memories.

  • the 70's was the decade of the stroker...I rode a GT250 but I remember the KH250 well...I was fed-up of getting burned-up by RD250's - they were the fastsst..but the KH was the most refined machine outta all of 'em

  • @9thprotocol yea, i wouldnt part with it for gold

  • Lovely sound and a great bike. Had 78 model, same colour fitted with an s1 motor with microns and bell mouth filters. Used to eat spark plugs but hey what a noise ! Thank for sweet memories...

  • Yeah great memories of times back then. I had an exact copy-B2 in the Candy red (can still remember the reg no too!) What a noise and i can still smell those fumes!! :)

  • Music to my ears, In 77 i was riding my GT 250, but the KH definitely had the best sound, Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

  • Thanks, it smell great too, the smell of burt two stroke oil ahhh nothing better. I dont get to ride it much as it only goes out when the sky is blue.

  • Shame you could not get the smell going as well mate. Sounds great and looks great.

  • Had one of these in `79 not the best handling or the fastest 250 but the sound was so amazing and distinctive. Unfortunately my 2 stroke pump packed up and well you can imagine the rest.

  • great! . . i've not seen one of those bikes for years.remember them well, mine was a rd250e at that time.others had suzuki gt250 ramairs and x7's. always liked the kh.they did a 400cc version as well i believe.anyway beautiful machine and thanks for sharing.

  • thanks....yes they did do a 400 and even a 500 and a 750!!! H1 and H2
