  • I love Donald but... I don´t like the woman..

  • The Princess' accent sounds more Chinese than European or whatever it's supposed to be.

  • Such an underrated movie. I bought the DVD a few days ago and I can't stop watching it. The songs are addictive and Donald O'Connor is amazing. Vera-Ellen should be more famous- I'm such a huge fan! Too bad she's so thin in this... the part where she's dancing with Donald, you can see the bones on her back stick out.

  • Somethings cut out. Is it the dance sequence to this song? I always thought that was a separate segment, like a later reprise, but maybe it's part of this performance.

  • @cmulwee001 I cut off a segment where they are chatting, without any music.

  • I love this song, Donold o'connor has such a pleasant voice, and he is so cute!

  • Just watched this movie again.... *sigh* I looove him.

  • haha nope

  • Donald O'Connor is cute

  • Donald O'Connor is mine!

  • Question....Why was he in glasses

  • @pupgal1999 His character in the movie wears them for reading. It's a cute touch!!!:))) Only Donald could look so great in those red glasses.

  • Perry Como's recording of this song came out at some point in 1953, the same year as this movie version of the play

  • haha. "Anything else new from America?"

    "Me."

Heck, I would have taken him with me. :-P Especially with that voice, those dance moves, and those baby blues he's got!

  • I can't stop watching/listening to this. Donald's voice... *melts* And vera is so pretty!!

  • Thanks :)

  • Does anyone know from what film this song is taken pls ?

  • @tejxa82 Call Me Madam, available on DVD.

  • @stephenjoeagi Thanks

  • Hoo! J'aime si seulement la vie pouvait être comme ça en vrai ! :')

  • why would anyone dislike this....

  • He has a very charming voice.

  • I am actually in love with this man Elvis And Bill Holden!

  • @ jaredjensen This movie is Call Me Madam - 1953 - a super movie with the adorable and incredibly talented Donald O'Connor. Check out his fantastic dances with Vera-Ellen from this movie and his great duet with Ethel Merman (the duet isn't on Youtube but the movie is readily available on DVD. Check out his dance with statues from There's No Business Like Show Business - it's a masterpiece! And, the De-Lovely dance with Mitzi Gaynor from Anything Goes is sooooo romantic. Donald had it all!

  • what's the name of the movie?

  • Donald O'Connor was quite the charmer! He looked so handsome in his youth, he was also very charming, as well as a wonderful singer!

  • THEY DO NOT WRITE SONGS LIKE THIS ANYMORE. Wonderful xxx

  • What a beautiful song.

  • "Anything else new from America?"

    "Uh-hm, me."

Gotta love that O' Connor (:

  • i think i know donalds grandson..... they look exactly alike and have the same last name!

  • Oh my. The glasses. *fans self*

  • Donald is the best- so talented, charismatic, and adorable!

  • Donald O'Connor is an interesting lesson to men of today. He's adorable, but not actually handsome. His body's lean and long, not particularly burly. But he's a completely romantic figure, because he's utterly sincere in his pursuit. We women love sincerity. At least, I do. And Donald O'Connor. <3

  • @InfernalMari

    And he is Charming too!

  • @InfernalMari He is handsome that handsome doth.

  • i watched it yesterday too! this song's been stuck in my head all day :)

and singing in the rain played right after this one!

  • He's precious:)

  • Oh, men do. Except wooing cost a lot more money, getting babysitters, parking, dinner and tickets, and with what the economy being what it is it wouldn't hurt if you women pitched in on the wooing, not all the time but some of the time. Woo woo.

  • @au33987 if you really love a girl you won't mind being the wooer.

  • it's so great to see how many people love Donald O'Connor! ^_^ they just don't make movies like these anymore

  • I am his new fan from Asia!

He is sooooooooo cute and he sings well !

  • Your memory lives on Donald.

You had a great personality, great talent, great stage presence... A truly great STAR...!!!

  • Donald o,conner could dance as well as gene Kelly and Fred, he was cheerful and could sing and ac t but is always in their shadow. Maybe he wasnt pushy enough. Pete'Kiwi'Keegan

  • Donald was a lot younger than Gene and Fred. By the time he was ready to be a leading man, the musical was on the decline :(

  • He's my fav from singing in the rain. I love Donald

  • I wish I could have had the chance to meet Donald. He's one of my favorite anything.

  • Irving Berlin wrote both the music AND words to this song! And Perry Como recorded it together with the Fontaine sisters in 1953!

  • don o'connor is wonderful in any movie!! :)

  • Great composers´ music will always be timeless...guess I was about two, when this musical hit´the mooviescreen.I even liked the dancescene to this song, though I´m no expert...Funny..I feel "related" to my "neighbour" right below:)

  • yes it realy is the best number in "Call me madame", no one could have done it better than Vera Ellen and Donald O'Connor. I think it's to bad that the hole movie has been removed from youtube. I'm just happy that i had the chance to watch it, now that i have'nt got the chance to buy it in Denmark. Thanks for posting this song it realy is the best.

  • One of the best numbers in Call Me Madam! Loves it. Thank you for sharing. Isn't it just precious!

  • call me madam

  • ah, and good cut, because so, you don't have to listen to the conversation and wait until they begin again to sing :)

  • I agree with panzergal!!

  • A really beautiful song- I have been watching this over and over again, and am astounded especially by Donald's gorgeous voice.

Thanks for taking time to upload!
