I agree. And football was way more competitive at the times of Ronaldo. Look at who he had to compete with: Nedved Zidane Figo Cannavaro Maldini Nesta Bergkamp Rivaldo and many many many more. Whereas C. Ronaldo and Messi just have each other to compete with nowadays in one of the least competitive leagues in the world, where there are always only 2 possible winners. @valacia1991 You know the rules of the internet state using the words "The End" or "Period" automatically void your argument :P However from this vid you could conclude that some of the goals are offside, having seen versions of the goals where you see the player actually making the pass I know this is not the case although some are very close. The rules of football do state however that the attacker in a close call is given the benefit of the doubt. Timing runs is the mark of a great striker.

Ronaldo often had to drag the team to victory, Messi doesn't have to drag Barca to victory because its to easy for them and Real nowadays. Admittedly Messi might break the record this year but again...its to easy for them. Then you just have to look at the games vs Chelsea or another physical team. Messi is ineffective in those games. Messi is a great player, but not in the same league yet.

Messi cant do what R9 did at international level... Messi is inconsistent at international level statistic will show this. However its not all about consistentency Kaka won player of the year judged on a few performances.

Ronaldo played for ONE season at Barca aged 19. And in that one and ONLY season he set the record of 47 goals in 49 games, at NINTEEN YEARS OLD with a set of players he'd never played with or against before. And these werent just tap in goals, half of them were the most impossible unbelievable goals I have ever seen. Ronaldo played like this in every club AND internationally. Messi has not.
