  • One of the best teaser trailer I've ever seen. The music is just fascinating and the game is worth trying just because of this. Besides, I've played it and it's one of the best in the Myst franchise.

  • if ANYBODY knows the name of the song that starts at 0:34 please tell me!!

  • @ckreticeland

Jack Wall made 2 demos for the soundtrack, the first of which ended up being used in this trailer.

Go to mysterium.ch to the Myst 3 Exile section, on the right side of the page is a link for the 2 demos and the music track for this trailer.

  • screw Morgan Freeman, I want Rand Miller narrating my life

  • I remeber when playing this on my original xbox my mom loved this game

  • simply beautiful.

  • @Haerodiel: no, he doesn't create them. In the backstory, it is explained how 'the art' basically is the writer listing, for lack of better terms, details of a world, completely at random, and the book does the rest by basically searching through the universe for a world that matches all the details, then creating a link to it. That's why it takes forever to write a book, because you have to be meticulous to a blade of grass, or else you might pop up in some world that's completely unstable.

  • The animation doesn't look as tasteful in this as in Riven. Problems with weightlessness on creatures, unreal camera movement wrecking scale on landscape shots etc. I guess everyone thinks it's superior 'cos of the more liquid smoothness of the CGI, and lack of pixellation, but if the whole game looks like in this trailer I'll pass, I think...

  • Concept art Ftw - Almost as fun as the game itself!

  • fixing problems with the mouse with Alt Tab: /watch?v=37iSsHJLLoM

  • The cage dropping made me jump out of my seat. D:

  • buenisimo juego lo tope en dos meses

  • Myst 3 is only second to Riven. I love these games.

  • Quiet possibly the greatest game ever made. Its use of raw emotional story is only eclipsed by the insurmountable artwork that is the hallmark of Myst itself

  • myst III & myst IV was best of the Myst series. I played and solved all myst series and Myst III is my favourite! Myst V was maded with hurry so dont like at all - easy and none of real personages!

  • I think that the worlds of Myst were fascinating, but I always found the game play itself to be frustrating. It's one thing to have to deal with a real puzzle. It's another thing when the "puzzle" consists of just trying to figure out which way you're facing in a visually ambiguous landscape, so you find yourself going in endless frustrating circles not because of something in the "world" of Myst -- but just because they've made the *game* of Myst hard to play.

  • What is this game about, anyway?

  • Atrus, who is talking, can create worlds.(ages) 'Everything exists somewhere, all you have to do is wright it' He's got two sons:Sirrus & Achanare. He wanted to teach them the art but first he needed to show them what an age needed to survive and for people to live there so he made the lesson ages and showed them different worlds he had written and hoped it would help them understand but instead they got greedy and plundered and destroyed the ages and Atrus was not able to repair all the damage.

  • @MCRgurka he doesnt create worlds, he only creates links to these worlds... the backstory explains how this process works.

  • @thomas007 No, he does create the worlds. In Revelation it's explained how some of the ages turned out unstable, so he has to work on them so they don't fall apart.

  • @Haerodiel actully he explains it in riven you know in myst he's wrighting and dosen't really stop thats riven he's wrighting to keep it from falling apart he's been doing it for 5 somthing (days, mounths, years ect)

  • This teaser always gave me goosebumps. Love it to death! ^_^

  • And what is not boring for you? Running around and shooting zombie with a lazer gun?!

  • That animal getting trapped has always made me jump ever since i was about 4 or 5 lol.

  • Best point and click game ever made! I'm playing Aura now, it's got almost the same graphics, but the story isn't that good as Myst. Myst rules!

  • whats that thing drawn on the pillar at 0:55..lol

  • my favourite song :)

  • It happened before the game

  • saavedro started crying there... idk why but thats just epic haha

  • a lot of this never happened. when the squee got caught in the trap, that hapened on edana, not the age its shown in (i for get the name, its like j'nannian or something lol) and you never saw that age from a birdseye view even in the link videos

  • I got that game for Christmas and I am going to play it today! :-)

  • I liked this game very very much, cuz have lot of feeling inside of it..I hope u like it too ^^

  • MYST EXILE is the greatest game ever, but....a bit difficult! If someone has finished it, he must contact me...PS: has the squee an important role in the story?

  • the squee is kinda important at a certain point in the game...

  • @KrakoTheCeltici know it's been like 3 years, but I could help you through that game no problem. send me a message if you need it. and yes, the squee is important like twice to solve a few puzzles

  • so gorgeous... I cry, really...

  • wait a minute... how the hell do you get out of the Fissure?

  • jumping into a fissure can send you to any age, however, by random conincidence, the riven star fissure usually sends you to new mexico that's how the stranger (you) find the myst book in the first place.

  • new mexico??

  • typically you leap out at a certain point. how precisely and where you go I think is another question altogether.

  • yes, but... why New Mexico?

  • It is one of the entry points into the D'Ni tunnel, I believe.

  • why would it be New Mexico? does someone from the game live there?

  • play Myst URU for more information on this.

  • k. or wikipedia.

  • well either you have a question or you have an answer. just play URU if you'd like your own experience of your question.

  • i don't have it.

    doesn't matter.

  • then why ask?

  • Because i just wanted to know how you get out of the Fissure. I now know that you end up randomly some place. lucky us, because we always end up in Tomahna, lol. maybe Tomahna is in New Mexico, or something.

  • This is what happens!

After you fall in the fissure in Riven, you end up back at home in new mexico. after that, some couple of years or months, you come back to Tomahna, a place near the cleft, in new mexico. this is also what happans at the beginning of myst 4, and probably 5.

  • how did atrus get to new mexico, wasn't he on myst?

  • Maybe he has some linking books, or access to the fissure. it's all so confusing!

  • In the Myst/D'ni universe, Earth is the planet where the D'ni (Atrus' people/species) chose as a home. The D'ni empire lived under the surface of New Mexico in a vast cavern. When you finish Riven, you end up in New Mexico. If you can find Uru: Complete Chronicles, it deals a lot with the modern restoration of D'ni

  • I always though you went back to Myst and found a Tomahna linking book left for you.

  • OMG! My dad and me beat riven (myst 2) this summer and i just bought exile on The internet! yay! i cont belive its on the ps2 now! cool. I bought it for only 5 bucks and got the 30 page stradegy guide of the internet!

  • I could never beat MYST 2 because it seems like the biggest one! All the Ages are connect to other Ages AND powersources!

  • myst 2 isn't actually called Myst 2. it's called Riven.

  • I luv this trailer

do you know a place that I can find the music that was used on it?

  • DON'T YELL! we can hear you...

  • i couldn't beat the myst game for sega in third grade. it was to hard! to many switches and buttons! and talking books!

  • Myst and its sequals are awesome games...

  • Agh, that clip with Saavedro always gives me goosebumps!

  • Me too! I don't know why, it always gets to me.

  • who's saavedro?

  • He's the guy who says "Hello Atrus" at the very end of the trailer

  • God, it's been so long since I've played the Myst games. Exile in particular. I beat the first three when I was in third grade, I remember. I need to play them again.

  • yeah... there was a red book and a blue book in the library. That's not really a puzzle solution...

  • Wasnt talking 'bout that, the light puzzle in J'nanin....

  • oh... Even so, without knowing the actual PURPOSE of that puzzle, it's not much of a spoiler. I mean, I figured out right off that the lanterns on J'nanin did somthing, I just had no frigging idea what :D

But yeah, I understand where you're coming from.

  • lol, i couldn't figure out how to get the loght through for like a month, ever since then Im 100% walkthroughs :) and you're right about the first part of your comment

  • Light not loght

  • does it matter?

  • You'll note that at first Atrus says "Sometimes the past is painful to remember" while showing pictures of the library and the books. That is simply explaining what he means when he says "....is painful to remember", that he had to deal with his sons in an unfortunate way. I don't think that was intended to mislead you into thinking that those first few shots would be in Myst III.

  • Itys a pretty good trailer but the first library they show is only in the first MYST as well as the red book and there r some things they shouldn't show as it is a full bore solution to a puzzle
