I think this movie is a good measure of how well-watched someone is in movies.
"Have you seen 'Jeanne Dielman?' Were you able to appreciate it?" -The way people answer has been separating the casual viewers from those who understand the potential of film more keenly and intensely. As for me, I find it challenging, so far. Beautiful and daring but on the verge of unbearable, and yet one of the most perfect movies I've ever seen. Greeting from the 36% mark.
