@Adizero7000 They do. For a few years it went on Cable: TLC and CMT. But, surprisingly starting this year ABC bought it back. So it was on ABC again. But since that move to cable, the pageant moved to January. So now this year Miss Universe moved to September, the month that used to have Miss America. Either way, the Miss World is not on tv anymore. I don't think Ion does Mrs. America either. But it did once.

I can't recall if Robin Mead of Ohio , now on HLN, was in the 93 or 92 Miss America. She was in one of those. Oddly enough at the Miss Ohio competition she beat another HLNer Christi Paul who landed in 3rd place.

Does anyone have the Hawaiian Hula number they did at this pageant? It was the Brothers Cazimero and a troup from Hawaii and was INCREDIBLE!!! If you have it, I hope that you will post it.

Cathy Lee Gifford is crapola..look at those holster hips. She looks like an over boiled hotdog in that dress. And listen...listen to that crap! No wonder she is a big recording star! Ooops, I'm wrong. she's at home beating Cody to a pulp, cause he's a perfect boy...oooweeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

The performance has the quality to stand on it's own. Like many people, my mine was closed when it came to really listening to this valuable artist. Now I own several of her recordings and never shy from explaining their quality to anyone who asks. Kathy Lee was also a very good friend to the late Nancy Lamott. -Scott (Lilburn GA)

I'm sorry,but you are wrong. NBC aired Miss America from 1978 thru 1996. The first year the pageant was on ABC was the 1997 telecast hosted by Eva & John Callahan, and Kate Shindle won. I have every Miss America telecast possible dating back to 1958. This is also documented on Kathie Lee's biography page on the filmreference website.

As a side note, ABC hosted the pageant from 1954, the first year it was on television thru 1965. NBC televised it for the next 30 years except for 1978 when it was on CBS. Susan Perkins won that year. Kylene Barker thru Tara Dawn Holland was on NBC.

ABC? ABC is the network that killed the pageant. This clip is from the good ole days on NBC. NBC hosted the pageant from 1978-1996.

Regis and Kathie Lee, I miss you. If they had stayed on ABC with Miss America, the pageant may have been able to keep its home.

I sure miss Kathie Lee hosting/performing at Miss America. It's never been the same since she left. Thank you for posting this. I'd love for the 1992 & 1994 Production numbers that Kathie Lee did to be on here too. It's also fun to see Robin Meade on here, current CNN Headline News morning anchor for "Robin & Company".
