I cant add much more to the most posts....a gem for their time indeed.....an album that i have cherished over so many other electric funk stuff.....unique sound...every song of Fabrique nested in my brain... The band Eternal Triangle had some same kind effect on me.....songs that moved your soul , for some reason. Not many bands (although great) had that ....
Thankyou for posting this tune and to all the others who have posted Fashion music/videos - I have been reminded of great times during the 80s, listening for many chilled out hours to this massively underrated band.
Just found their CD for sale at Base.com - find of the century at £8.49!
Fashion were the first band I ever saw, 1979 at The Nashville, West Kensington London, supporting........The Mekons !
Fashion were from Birmingham, The Mekons Leeds. Fashion were still making the same sound as on their soon to be released first LP at the time. Bought their Steady Eddie Steady independent 45 a few days after the gig. Same venue a few weeks later I saw The Ruts (a f**king astonishing gig), and on 7/7/79 Simple Minds. Amazingly I got into these gigs aged 14 ! Great memories.
Music at its finest , what a group ,memories are so clear when i listen to this album , the first time i heard it the hairs on my neck stood up , Electro Funk , New romance at its Max !!!
Shortly after this, Pete Burns and his Dead or live did their debut "Sophisticated Boom Boom" with Zeus B.Held and one of the reviews called it: "Chrome-plated Funk"... which I think is a very good description for Zeus' sound...
Bang on dc , remarkable is being too laid back , i lived through the eighties with this album , i too have the battered , beat up vinyl copy , what a group ! , they should have been VAST !!! , AT LEAST WE HAVE THE MEMORIES.
swindon comes into my mind with this album!! my life is there in front of me!!....true classic thats for sure!.. god bless you dee..

Anyone else notice a resemblance between this song and Franky's "Relax".....or is it just me? I wonder if they had heard this when they wrote Relax.
Anyway, thanks for the memories :)

@ickleian Yes a bit more the synth parts than the singing - the chords on the chorus bit - this is slower as well.

I was listening to Ian Brown Greatest Hits and I just thought the way he sings on some tracks is like this - the tone of voice etc - very close.

Days long gone - living in the 80's - but this still sounds good today, when the quality of music is dire.

This album will be appreciated in 2012

One of the most underated bands of all time. There is not one mediocre track on the 'Fabrique' albumn and this is one of the standouts.

The whole Fabrique album is fantastic. A true hidden gem for the time. Sure beats the top 40 crap from 1982 and leaps ahead of 2009-2010's pop smeg.

Pop smeg... what an apt word to describe pop music today;-)
