you could make a (portable) tent bring the pegasus (on foot...so to speak) and ride every day (with wilson) and camp every night (while the pegasus is tied to a pole)

p.s. monsters might goto your (abandoned) shelter and pick up on your sent so blow it up with TNT (once you kill a ware wolf the rest of the pack will track you down....just so you know)
