  • The sofa is beautiful. !

  • Im in 7th too and Im the only bassoon player, i a girl too (Just to let you know) and I PLAY BASSOON

  • very beautiful, i think it would be better if you slowed and deepened your vibrato.

the low faster section was very well put together but there where a few moments later that could use a bit of work.

    otherwise sounds great

  • What kind of bassoon is that?

  • 00:59 :D

  • i just know theres kind of this instrument ! 0_0 !

  • Good. Now play it backwards.

  • OMG it's beautiful!

  • wow that great! what kind of bassoon is that, i play a puchner but you have a good sound

  • BASSOONIST ROCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • i wish i could do that. i just started the bassoon not too long ago.

  • I play bassoon and i have a problem, when i play my B flat it sounds like a C. How can i fix that problem??? ASAP

  • omg i play the bassoon and flute too! haha

  • Lovely!! xx

  • how long have you been playing???

i wanna be as good as that!

  • @spongebobsmyhero yeah, it is really hard, and her playing is amazing!

  • you are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! ive been playing a bassoon for two and a half years, and im still pathetic!

where did you get the music from?

  • is that really you playing? like no joke??? cuz your amazing!!!!! shit... i wanna learn to play thiss

  • i play the whole bassoon family

  • Watch for the few cracks and messed up high notes.

  • nice pinkies at home and posture and embouchure and sound and tone u sound like a really good bassoon player can u make a video on the scales i'm curious on how it sounds pro!!

  • very cool

  • haha im swiching to bassoon... playing flute now! lol :)

  • @jadaismia ugh that should be fun haha

Im switching from oboe :) but i play flute too

  • @halogirl333 i switched from bari sax to bassoon and so far its fun

  • I play Bassoon And Flute also (more Bassoon though) X-X...Why does it seem so many Flutes Switch to Bassoon? xDDD

  • thats weird cuz my friend switched from flute to bassoon too

  • that is weird, a girl in my bassoon trio switched from flute to bassoon.

  • because, like a flute, a bassoon has about a billion buttons and takes a lot of air. :)

    *is a bassonist...used to be a floutist*

  • I switched from Cello to Bassoon!

  • @Falcon689 Flute embochure (sp?) makes the switch to bassoon easier than from other instruments.

  • @Falcon689 O__O OMG! i'm a flute player and (before i read this) i wanted to become a bassoon player. lol

  • @CurlyMacFlurry Playing the bassoon and Flute is amazing :D

  • @Falcon689 They've realised lower is better

  • @Falcon689 i played clarinet and switched to bassoon

  • @Falcon689 They want to get as far away from the flute's pitch range as possible! :P

  • The clicking of the keys really turned me off, and I think you may have lost it on a few of the notes, but I suppose the key click is near impossible to fix and the notes were few, so I liked it!

  • this sounds so cool!!

  • 14225345623, 256 u!!!!!

  • FANTASTIC!!! I´ll play this instrument next september!!!

  • must have bigass lungs to play bassoon. cuz its so big and req. alot of air to go thru

  • You're an idiot. Double reeds use much less air than most instruments. Flute uses probably twice as much air as the bassoon does.

  • yeah, i play both flute and the bassoon and bassoon is much easier to sustain (for me) although it would more depend on the person playing

  • @raymoundruiwang You are correct but it takes more skills to play the bassoon. The instrument has multiple fingerings and keys to play the right notes.

  • raymoundruiwang is right, bassoons need barely any air to play, im not sure about oboe, but i also play tenor sax and i can play a single note probably about 3 times longer on bassoon than the saxophone

  • hey i'm switchign from tenor to bassoon, any suggestions? i'm starting lessons, but i need to improve quickly cuz i need to go into university with the bassoon, and i have a lil less than 2 years.

  • Don't bite.

  • Hey, I have only been playing the bassoon for a year now and I know most notes. I know from the lowest note (Low B Flat) to the one of the highest notes(High F). You will have it down in no time, even though you posted this comment 2 months ago.

  • hey! yup, i got those notes already THANKS! but i can't do a smooth transition from the middle range to either a high range or low range but i can play teh notes. My high f is not the best sound , but i'm getting there LOL

  • Yeah, Keep working on the notes! You will get it soon!!!

  • oboe uses about almost the same air as bassoon

  • It's simply a different transition from the flutes mouthpiece to a reed. I too went from the flute to the bassoon, it simply felt different. Being a double reed it does use less air. It also depends if the weed is moist enough, and the degree of hardness it is.

  • Comment removed

  • lol i typed weed for one reed... XD

  • I've got something even longer for you to blow on, the skin flute.

Aside from my awesome perversion I would like to add you played very well.

  • I PLAY THE BASSOON!!!!!

  • nice

  • i paly the trumept now and just started this i am in 7th grade it takes way more wind then you think!!!!And then im switching to bari sax! sounds fun!

  • yea baris kick ass!

  • nice vibrato!

  • you're awesome

  • I love this, I wanna see if I could play this. I know I'm only 14 but this looks like something I'd really like to pour my work in to. Do you know where I can buy the sheet music?

  • hey, yeah im going from violin to cello to bassoon, this is so hard, i need help fast, recital in december and barely can play twinle twinkle little star! help please!

  • I switched from alto sax to bassoon. It was pretty smooth transition.

  • i did the same, but im not really too good at bassoon yet.

  • me too.

sax is really awesome but so is bassoon.

    :)

  • me too but im still not playing all of the concert music expecially all of the runs and very difficult fingering parts

i never thought that it would be such a difficult and addicting instrument

  • Hey guys. Its probably best to switch to bassoon after you have played another instrument for a while.

  • very nice! you have great tone! what kind of bassoon is that? I play on a Puchner, made in West Germany.

  • i play the saxophone but i love the bassoon its my favorite instrument, great job!

  • Same I am a bari-sax player.

I really want to try to take up the bassoon!

  • I'm a Bari-sax player. I got a bassoon just this Monday, Its amazing! Make the switch, you wont regret it.

  • are they really heavy?

  • they are but it has like a strap to sit on and it holds it...kinda u still have ot put effort into it it is heavy i play in band and i play bassoon

i am in 7th grade and it is heavy i am the only girl bassooon player...well i am the only bassoon player

  • i was only bassoon player in the whole middles school

  • no i can lift it with one hand

  • I play bassoon too (Girl) and after you play it for awhile and take it around with you the weight becomes insignificant.

  • im still not used to it thoughhhh. :[

  • i love this song... i was wondering do you still have the sheet music???

  • I like it I think I have the same model as you.

  • is it a Fox?

  • beautiful

  • I love it. Cute smile too.

  • I would have loved to have seen a bassoon get up and play with The Foo Fighters live! haha, great playing, keep it up!

  • ha, really good! lol i like the smile at the end...

  • Awesome, one of my favorites

  • omg u r so good!!!!!!!!! i play bassoon to but im 11 and could never be that good until i get alot older

  • why? age really has nothing to do with it, unless your fingers are too short to hit the keys.

  • Hi Sisterlove, Someone else said this but I have to echo - don't worry about being too young for bassoon. Keep it up! Most bassoonists I know didn't even start until their teens. All the best to you, Kirby

  • @sisterlove0914 bassons are AWESOME!

  • so good...next stop Grammys!!!

  • YAH KIRBY !!! You Go Girl! BURNIN ! May I give you some important advice about the Grammys? (I worked in the house orchestra for 15 years)...Make sure you bring ear-plugs, The Staple Center sound system is painfully loud. Wish You the Best. RPz

  • Hello Ray!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! It means a lot to me. Hope to meet you one day.

    All the best,

    Kirby
