@VIPER720DD first of all, rooting isnt for the apps. it gives super user acces to the phone, which allows you to install custom ROMS, flash kernels, etc.and the BEST app for rooted phones is rom manager btw :) its saved my phones life like 5 times

2nd: In 1 program there is at least 15 things that can brick your phone

3rd: By installing ClockWork mod not only you can brick your phone you can also remove the original recovery mod...

I think that's enough to proof that Rom Menager SUCKS!

@larwhelan It'll replace,they are different Roms,i would switch to Cyanogen mods latest version,its basicly like gingerbread but with additonal lil fx (which u can edit off) and saves u battery and all that good stuff

@anuthehigh unroot youre phone completely and then try to update it, the app u used to update it should have a unroot switch on it.

@skatasay123 I got a custom rom installed now I had to root my phone using the connectbot method and now I'm running Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my cliq xt. Not all apk run that great but the rom is fast might try new roms in the future.

@anuthehigh i had that problem today i used 3 different methods to do it first i tried super click it didnt work so i tried another that didnt work went back to the super click it gave me root access through a computer terminal but when i tried to type $ su it wouldn't let me so finally i tried a different method with f*ed up at first but the second time i got it to run heres the link my last comment should be the most recent

when you backup your rom in rom manager it saves all your apps and logs you into apps like netffix. so after you recover your rom you can go into neyflix you will already be signed in.

Also using z4 on the wrong model will only result in unsuccessful root but (should) not brick your phone.but you can never be 100% sure

Ha that should work unless the phone gets so screwed up that the rom and the recovery are fucked up.there is also bootloader I think. As long as one of them works Odin should be able to flash a rom

when i tried to use the wifi tether thing it would connect on my computer but it would not give me internet connection

@jailbroken4life Try when you click on the wireless tether app hit menu go to access control in the right hand corner enable that bar so it turns green then and while your in there go try to connect again and if the name and ip address shows up under the enabled bar check the white box...i was having the same problem it worked for me i just started messing around with it good luck.
