  • Only 24 of these wonderful cars cars are registered in the United Kingdom.

  • Nice body design and a wonderful interior style but mechanically primitive.

  • I almost bought one at a dealer (was a trade-in), but the dealer gave it to a scrapyard claiming 'it had died'. I couldn't prove it so a beautiful, rare car (which seemed in average condition) is probably being torn apart to fix a sh** holden gemini.

Is what they do with these in New Zealand.

  • One of the greatest designers Giorgetto Giugiaro.

  • I had two of them, and if I could , I would get another one

  • NICE !

  • DUDE!!! Where can I get one!!! :D:D:D:D

  • - Developed by GM South America (T-Platform, Chevette 1973)

    - Designed by Giugiaro, Italy.

    - Built by Isuzu, Japan.

    - Tuned by Lotus, UK.

    - Paid for by GM, US for us to enjoy...!

  • @alernest GM was the downfall of Isuzu in the US. It stifled their development budgets, limited imports, restricted dealers and would only let them badge-engineer its US offerings. All it wanted were cost-effective commercial trucks to slap a bowtie and GMC banner on. Did you know the Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon pickups were badge engineered Isuzu D-Maxes? The D-Max even has a better front end and a V-6.

  • I've owned two of these cars in my life. These cars were THE shit.

  • Had one till it died with 230000km - and it looks not like a Corrado, it looks like a Scirocco (Corrado forerunner). Was a cool car, felt like in an airplane inside :-)

  • The engine sounds almost exactly like the 2.4L I4 in my Nissan 240sx... I am falling in love with this car.

  • I had two of them tha last one for 12 years, unfurtunatelly I coudn't keep it. It was the end of an era of joy and exitement, driving through all high passes in the Austrian , Swiss and Italian Alps. If I coud have it again I would adquire it, it is nothing like it. Loos it was like the lost of the best friend. buaaaaa

  • @Slcirep I might be buying one this week! 80,000 original miles!

  • I used to own one from'93 to '95. The most fun to drive 'till this day

  • it looks like a smooshed corrado

  • still gorgeous after all these years

  • Isuzu Pizza hey? Looks like a DeLorean. MAMA MIA!

  • jnb

  • Great car, but Volvo 480 (with Lotus suspension) looks better...

  • I have 3 of these.

    1 x Holden Piazza 1986 2.0Ltr Turbo (poor condition)

    1 x Isuzu Piazza 1986 2.0 Ltr Turbo (drivable)

1 x Isuzu Piazza 1986 2.0Ltr Turbo (leather interior, rear spoiler, front spoiler, original rims, engine rebuild in progress, everything is emaculate! a beaty!)

  • I have 88 ISUZU IMPULSE TURBO for sale in Denver,CO USA with 95k miles

  • i have a sweet little black number sitting in my backyard, waiting for a restoration. Quite a rare car here in australia, the "Holden" Piazza. 2lt Turbo RWD Hatchback = Bulk fun!

  • did this car make it into the US?

  • yes, in the US it is called ISUZU IMPULSE.

  • i have been so sick close of buying a piazza, but someone always come in the way.

  • I got a white Lotus piazza now;) After all these years i finally got one it's sweet! The only thing i should do is to make a new account name(I am not a audi fan:S The account i got was made back in the days when i loved the urquattro...)

  • nice vid:P my friend audiqattro01 love this type of car so i had to check some vids of the piazza on youtube;)

  • How does the 80's Piazza compare to the 90's model? It seems pretty much the same other than cosmetics.

  • They are nothing alike in any way. The JR Chassis Impulse (1981-1989) was a Modified version of the GM T-car chassis. Front engine RWD and were sold with the G180 and G200, 4ZC1-T and 4ZD1 engines. The 90's model Impulse is a completely different chassis, is FWD (AWD in the 1991 RS in North America). available with the 4XE1, 4XE1-W, 4XF1-W and the 4XE1-WT n the 1991 RS (other models outside of North America got the turbo 1.6). Not one part will interchange between the first and 2nd gen cars.

  • Oddball, you're lucky, HBL discs (260mm) can't be obtained for love nor money in the UK. Well, they can, but you'd have to fork out the equivalent of $450 for a set from a third party company.

Weirdly enough I bought a cache of parts from a HBL with a sunroof, and I have a seal...of no use to me, my car doesn't have one :)

  • What a fun car. Someone came by my house and wants to by mine, and I'm having a hard time saying yes. This is my 4th one and I just don't want to let another one go. :(

I'm hoping that watching some inspirational videos will help me say no. :D

  • hey have you sold it yet?ive been trying to get one but im having a real hard time finding one

  • Nope, still have it. I'm in the midwest. You should be able to contact me through my profile if you're thinking about it.

  • Wouldn't happen to be a member of the Zone would you?

  • I was at one point I think. Signed up at least.

  • I know about a abandoned piazza. I guess i'll put a video of it after the summer. love these rare cars!!!

  • Dont see many them about these days

  • Very classic and cult car.

  • Geez I miss my Black Piazza Formula... Where is it now?? Last seen Eastern Suburbs Melbourne..

  • isuzu piazza ,it look quite cool actually... heh... called it the "pizza"-car

  • nice car!

  • This car, Scirocco, DeLorean, all designed by Giugiaro. That's why they have resemblences in design.

  • also the audi quattro,it had this look as well

  • Yes, how could I forget the Quattro? This is still one of my favourite cars of the 80s. Did anybody see the tv series Ashes to Ashes?

  • @IsaakHunt Nice to see somebody that actually knows what they are talking about! 88 Impulse Turbo owner here lol.

  • this is the japanese version of the dmc delorean

  • ROTFL, Isuzu Piazza it's Giugiaro design.

  • @dusnt lol No

  • @dusnt no, its a japanese version of the impulse. completely different cars.

  • HBLs are nice. Some of the parts are unobtainable, like the brake rotors. Can be arsehole at MOT time. I've got a 1987 non HBL Piazza Turbo, which handles like a bag of shite because the control arms, bottom ball joint and track rod ends are shagged, as well as the ARB bushes on the back.... really enjoyed this vid though.. too much applique wood in that HBL for me though.

  • I have no problem getting brake parts for my 1988 Turbo. Nor my 1989 Turbo while I had it. The only real hard to find parts tend to be trim peices. Like the Sunroof weather strip. It was completely gone from my 89, and its completely F-ed on my 88.

  • ass bag the piazza was great lol such gd accel!! and grip!

  • Except it was designed before the Scirocco, is actually RWD, not FWD like the Scirocco, actually handled well with the Lotus tuned or Irmscher suspension, and was actually remotely fast in turbo form which the scirocco...wasn't.

  • I had a 1.8 EFi scirocco and it was fairly fast

  • Come to think of it, it almost has the same basic shape as a Volkswagen Scirocco, only with much smoother lines.

    But, it's just my opinion...

  • That Izusu is CLEAN, especially with those multi-spoke wheels!

  • ooohh, that makes more sense, would have been easier to understand if he had said, the Corrado looks like the Piazza or something to that effect

  • Awesome car. I'll own one someday.

  • i agree, at first glance i thought it was a 'raddo too....

  • it kinda looks like a corrado

  • Corrado looks like this.

  • ???

  • I bought my 4th Isuzu Impulse last year, and would kill someone for the first series of Piazza (with the crazy side-mirrors)

  • Dude what is up with the music!! Crappy song but I guess it fits with the car, 80s.

  • Surroundings of the front bumper are different

  • Even though its a bit older, Ive always seen this as an answer to the AE86. Wish I could find one here.

  • Only Isuzu! Giugiaro Style! Great Car!
