First and most important is that peak horsepower does not indicate power across the range, so even if the 599 tops out higher it might be lower power at lower revs. Second is that weight, aerodynamics, and traction (or lack thereof) can have a major effect, and I believe a Murc has 4wd. Third is that the official factory run would have been done with a very skilled driver doing it at what is probably the fastest possible time in that car.

Not only does the gear they are is severely affect how quickly the wheels get power in relation to how much the engine is putting out, but there is also a potential for difference in time it takes to shift. The fifth is environmental conditions, such as air pressure, water density, and grade of road. The sixth thing to consider is that you may have read about whp or ehp, which is different.

Must adjust for wind speed because it is a dominate threshold variable at the drag limit. A 5mph wind can give top speed difference of 10mph for the same car on the same track; difference between front straight and back straight. As for speedo, there are too many variances in a car's speedo to trust it to the level required in these tests.

Because speedo doesn't account for wind resistance for the car. Just estimated speed. At 100+ you get way more wind resistance that actually makes speedo not be telling you the truth. Think of all the resistance the computer is not calculating. if you think that's fake then go read about it. Its pretty simple.

If he doesn't hit the corner portion at the proper speed then he will lose speed on the starights which is why he couldn't go as fast as you wanted into the corner.

that's because the electronic system is focusing on the rpm's AFTER the shift b/c it wants to fall into the best part of the torque range for acceleration purposes. redline is reffering to the engines limits NOT the best time to shift. Tthe optimal shift point is usually a few hundred rpms lower in most cars.
