beautiful fish there color is brilliant !! great job my friend , what are those yellow checkered fish ?? called i really want some strains of yellow in my tank
Hmm I've never been a huge fan of discus (they don't look 'natural' enough for my tastes) but yours really are beauties. Who knows, maybe someday I'll change my mind
Hari, everything right but how do you clean the tank yaar ? you have used small gravel, its a bitch to clean, no matter how much you try you cant clean unless you take all the stones out and clean them. whats your approach ?
how big is your tank? i know the 10gallon/discus rule, and im about 1 fish too many as it is according to that...but I JUST ONE ONE MORE!!! do you find it a problem to be a just a little crowded?
the most beautiful fish ive ever seen wayy better than saltwater fish. Sadly i have a 10 gallon so i cant have one, i wish i had a 55gallon any ways good job! you should look at the Checkerboard discus
DUDE I WANNA KNOW I AM CONFUSED CAUSE I HAVE A TANK THAT HAS LOTS OF DEPTH AND THE PROBLEM IS HOW TO DECORATE IT,I HAVE AROUND 21 DISCUS FISH SO PLEASE HELP AND PLZ TELL ME IF I CAN KEEP SMALL DISCUS FISH WITH BIG ONES .
@MrSportsfan06 its best to have an tall tank for discus 24" would be perfect 18" to 24" wide and a minimum of 36" long with no more the 2 pairs in that size of a tank.
beautiful tank and fishes indeed...!!!!!... it makes me forget all my worries......i wish if i could see it in real... Love ur Discus Fishes... God Bless them..
Hi, very beautiful and healthy fish, ur Aquarium setup is awesome, i kept discus and really care them a lot but failed :(, i would like to get important tips from u on discus care
WOW!!! Amazing!!!!! I've got 15 discus but they're not as beautiful as these. It's kinda difficult getting a wide range of discus in my country :( I think I have a few of your Yellow with White strips though. Still searching for anybody with different kinds. But keep up the great work on them :)
These look very healthy. I tried 4 discus years ago and they all got sick and died. I felt awful, but the aquarium books I had didn't really give concise, accurate information on how to take good care of them. Now that i have more information and experience, I have been thinking about trying again.
i love ur tank, i want a discus tank but have been scared due to alot of caring and water quality is involved with keeping discus fish, i know they love live plants but will they be ok with fake plants as i had bad experience with live plants(snail infestation)
OMG!!!!! this is the most beautiful tank in the world!!! no joke! the Discus's are BEAUTIFUL!!!!! where did you get those? they are amazing! seriously. and did you set the tank up yourself?? if you did, WOW!!! im out of words! literally.
hi hari thats a very beautiful fish tank with that exotic fish can u tell me is in available in mumbai (india) i hve been searching places for them its a wonderful tank u got
beautiful fishies..they are nice to look at but i've been doing a lot of research theyre not difficult to keep there only cichlids at the end of the day...... and they are really the most boring of all cichlids they just look nice soo if u want a boring tank get discus if not get a greenterror or oscar or red devil or jag well just about all other cichlids discus just sit there doing nothing and only move for food but they still are beautiful =) lovely tank.
@oceancalls52 discus grow up to 8 inches i think, and they need a tank that is both tall and wide, so basically nothing smaller than a 60 gal. maybe a 55, but that would be pushing it, and they would basically be the only fish cause of their size.
Those are beautiful fish. Did you buy those from discusmadness? I've been getting mine from there for about 2 years. His fish are always healthy and he gives great support on maintainance. He also usually throws in a freebie every now and then to his regulars;)
I have a question: when you have Discus in a planted tank. Do you need to change water as frequently as in a tank without plants? what is the problem if you do not change the water frequently?
I think you should stick to 4 (3inch) fish max on this 20G Tank. Otherwise your fish will start dieing off in a month's time without constant water change.
i have a couple of small discusses and one is very aggressive towards others and never lets the other discus' around food. What should i do? It's already killed one by starving it.
It is unfortunate that you lost your fish. Sometimes, one or two Discus' in the tank could be very aggressive. In which case, the weaker ones will not even try to eat and they would eventually die. I do not have a solution for this, but you can try having more hiding places with rocks and drift woods which might comfort the others in the tank and allow them to recover. I'm sorry, I do not have a good solution for this ;-(
where you buy discus from do they have a guarantee? i know most places dont but there is a place where i go to which has a 14 day guarantee, so if there is a problem with one of your fish you'll be able to take it back and get a refund/replaceable fish.
The red one that you show at the start most... its excellent!!what kind of discus is?im waiting my new 360litres and im making plans!! ;) you know i think that you should have some woods in there...it would make the fish feel better..(all that in a good mood)cause i have the most bad set up i ever had this time at my 160 litres..!!
you're better off ordering them from online websites. Check around for prices first and reputation. Make sure they have a Dead on Arrival guarantee. Order in bulk to save money.
It is easy to keep and even to breed Discus as guppies. A key is how to remove debris from tank bottom. Live plants are also very useful for removing nitrogen compounds from water. ok a cuople of things
1. how big is that aquariam?
2. are discus peaceful?
3. are they hard to take care of?
4. do they need lots of plants rocks hiding places etc?
5. do they die easily?
6. what should be the temp of the tank the current of the tank how many plants should be in the tank etc?
please answer PLEASE
jasonlsch 2 years ago
1. well its a pretty big aquarium id say 40-50 gal.
2. yes and they get easily startled by fast moving creatures
3. very
4. not so much hiding places but tall things they can swim behind
5. very
6. temp has to stay stable 75-82F lots of plants no big or fast fish.
a common mistake is putting angels in with discus angels are very fast even though they appear slow.
teddyzaper 2 years ago
.1 idk
.2 yes very gentle
.3 very fragile and sensitive so yes
4. they prefer plants and low light settings
5 yes like i said in 3
Judocraft 2 years ago
1. you have to get a big tank in order to keep more fish. 5 discus = 50 gallon
2. very peaceful
3. they are actually more harder to take care of. you have to do water tests and maintain it at the average ALL THE TIME or they will die.
4. they don't really need hiding places. it's just for decorations
5. if you can maintain the tank, they will not die easily
6. they're freshwater/tropical fish. i'm guessing 75 degrees should be ok
7. plants are also used as decoration. it's optional
