The boulder scene is an illusion. The car is in place and so is the boulder.  The walls actually move forward to give you the illusion that the boulder is rolling towards you.

haha ive been stoppped in that same spot 3 times in all my times ive been on the ride. You stop there alot if people are taking a while loading and unloading from the cars, haha but they usually keep it goign after 5 minutes haha this is an obvious breakdown

Its an illusion. The ball is sitting in place, does not move. The car is actually in place as well, it is a rolling tunnel to make the effect that y ou are moving.

The boxes contain 18" JBL woofers for the sound of the boulder crashing at the base of the hill. A clear shot of the sub enclosures @ 5:13, plus another enclosure on the other side. It's loud, you can sometimes hear the rumble in Downtown Disney. I'm sure they blow out woofers on a regular basis.

I know for a fact its not a hologram,the ball weights about 300 pounds and the walls move forward and the boulder moves in a forward movement yet it not moving anywhere which gives it its effects and you go underneath the boulder.
