Reciting Luke 11:27 doesn't actually say anything that has to do with the Rosary. It isn't worship of Mary; it is veneration, and there's a big difference. The Catholic religion does NOT teach that praying the Rosary alone will get you into Heaven! It will help you become closer to God, and to become a more devout Christian, but it is no substitution for Baptism and other sacraments. Before you call others heretics, perhaps you should learn why the Catholic Church is the true Church.
the best commentary on the Bible, is the Bible itself. It does not contradict itself. Catholics can't defend their faith, of Worship, by the " Words " in the Bible. When someone try's to show Catholic {with the very same words , that are in , there very own Bible} they are Worshiping wrong, they become Offended . When this happens , you can quickly see just who they are really " worshiping " by there " Demeanor "
@derekdb2 I suppose some people might become offended, but I'm not. I can't understand your opposition; Catholics do follow the Bible. Why do you think we are heretics or that we worship the Saints and Mary? We do not. God granted these people incredible gifts, and has allowed them to continue their work after death, by interceding for those of us that need them. Why do I think God would do this? Wouldn't he would love that they did his will and want us to have someone human to identify with?
@derekdb2 Have you read the mysteries that the Rosary consists of? If you haven't, I could send you a link. They are prayers focused on Jesus's life and Death and Resurrection. Mary faced shame and much worse when she took the risk of having a baby that was conceived in a way that wasn't with her husband. Saying the Hail Mary is simply a prayer for her intercession, not worship or idolatry.
The Bible never teaches us to count beads or, pray a rosary. I don't see anything about a hail Mary in there. If a doctrine doesn't fit within the parameters of the Biblical Scriptures, then it is heresy!. If you don't like the sound teaching the bible displays , and have to add pagan worship. Then you do NOT believe the Bible, and have no true love for YHWH or Yahshua .The Catholic religion teaches that those who trust MARY through the ROSARY will not perish,that's a lie according to the bible
@derekdb2: Sorry this response comes 9 months later. But let me acknowledge that you are correct that the rosary is not mentioned in the Bible. But to clarify to you what the rosary is, it is the meditation of the life, and resurrection of Jesus. The hail mary is based off Luke 1:28 & 42. please dont drop a quick judgement that Catholics are pagan worshippers because we honor Mary. We give her due honor for the role she played in salvation history...Bringing the Son of God into the world.
@mariaporjesus You can get supplies from any local Catholic store, or if you wish to make many rosaries, there are kits, around $30, to make 100 of them. eBay is a good place to look for supplies if you don't have a local store. Many Catholic Churches have plastic rosaries or cord rosaries in the foyer along with booklets on how to pray the rosary, and these are free.
