This is not the PC version, he take that from the speed run of Aurélien Pilet in speed demos archive which made his run in the French PAL version on the Playstation. Where is the glitch ?

what I did was I pressed the right clicked the MGS1 Icon and changed the settings to windows 98 AND saved right in front of the door before you go in and plug the hot card in the computer

it worked for me, try it

try windows 98, it dosent work on windows XP or vista, only windows 98, it was created in 1998

@PRTMCLUESCROL Sometimes it works on Vista. I beat it twice on Vista. This is my third time playing through on pc (instead of psx) and the only thing I've done differently this time is not given up in the torture bits. And suddenly the door doesn't open.

So I tried it on XP and yeah that's not working at all. :'{

yeah just wear a gas mask (make sure you do and then call up otacon) at the door

if ya dont wear a gas mask you die really quickly

Nothing special? There was 'Casting Theatre', the return of 'VR Trainning Missions', an unlockable Gray Fox exoskeleton for Raiden, Meryl as a replacement for Olga Gurlukovich, 'Evolution Skateboarding'...do I need to say more ?

actually the casting theatre was already on it mate.

and the skateboarding is rubbish. exoskeleton for raiden isnt that great replacement for olga is the same.

only decent thing is the VR training and that did not make it worth spending another £30 when it came out new. or even spending over £10 now for it if you already have SOL

#2- Olga's cybernetic ninja armor is not the same as Gray Fox's exoskeleton. Learn the difference.

#3- Since this is currently the only Metal Gear Solid game with 3D Vr Trainning, that makes it well worth it.

because a VR training is like a cheap add on to the game it dont make the game worth it. plus your pretty much 1 in a few that think it was worth rebuying. cause i love MGS but i aint dumb enough to buy the game again for like 30 minutes of fun.

#1- You missed my point. I was actually questioning if the original 'Sons of Liberty' had 'Casting Theatre' or not. Can you actually proove it has?

#2- You also missed my point about the difference between Olga's ninja armor and Gray Fox's exoskeleton.

#3- It's not really "cheap", considering how much work they've done with that.

#4- You could sell your 'Sons of Liberty' game and then buy 'SUBSTANCE'.

The Casting Theater was not in the original Sons Of Liberty. You have to have Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance. Of course I'm talking about the North American release. Unless they added it to the Greatest hits version.

the only explanation I have for that is perhaps they added it to the greatest hits version. I know for a fact that in the original sons of liberty the casting theater is not there. I bought it the day it came out in 2001

I just found yesterday a way to make the game open the door, just run the game on windows 98 compatibility mode and it's done (at least for me).

When I first played MGS on pc (with level very easy and different video settings), the door opened normally and I was able to finish the game. Now, when I play with normal difficulty and different video settings, it doesn't work.

New Method, Right click on the Metal Gear Solid program, then go to properties. Then where it says target, it would probably say "C:\Program Files\Metal Gear Solid\MGSI.exe" put "C:\Program Files\Metal Gear Solid\MGSI.exe -cheatenable". Then when you get to the part where you at the control room and the door is locked, press F7. That will reset the board, causing the door to unlock.

Oh, yeah. The point was that when I play through this part, the door does not open. That room shown in the clip above was the Command room on REX. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is. Maybe I should upload the video of the door not opening instead. That was someone elses video.

I had the same problem. If your using xp I found that changing the compatibility to win 95 fixes this problem
