  • I worked as DJ at a gay bath house, we had stacks of GN. Oingo Boingo, New Order, Yazoo, Pretenders, Wall of Voodoo, Devo, Human League, Grace Jones . . . . just to name a few.

  • miss the 80's so much! Wonderful time for music, toys, technology and movies.. What I'd give to go back..

  • These were the best days of his career i went to warriors tour brilliant!

  • i saw this concert at the tower theatre in philly! it was amazing! Numan is truely underated! He had some bowie influence, but so what! who hasn't ? When your breaking new ground! Numan is a great one!

  • @marieljoed I also saw the show at the Tower. I was blown away by Nash the Slash, and then Gary came on. I was only familiar with 'The Pleasure Principle' at the time, but the next night I went out and bought everything I could find. I still consider that show the best concert I've ever seen.

  • THE MASTER AT WORK,AT HIS BEST FOR ALL TIME!!!...ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE!!!!....NUMANS A GOD!

  • saw him back in 1981 this were the days

  • at 2:30 he does the "carlton" dance from the fresh prince, years BEFORE carlton.how's THAT for "ahead of his time?

  • @stuart38 exactly! LOL

  • where's your head at! Classic Numan! Well used by Basement Jaxx too.

  • he is so fucking BOSS.

  • one of the greatest first verse opening line performances ever

  • The synth...

  • One of Numand best ever songs.......no question!!!

  • legend

  • I love how he mouths the beat between lyrics.

  • Gary Numan = Sheer Brilliance

  • great video.

  • It 30 years this month since met him in Bristol what a brilliant guy!!! Understated isn't the word!!

  • This man is so strange, I love watching his movements. Every time I listen to his music I have to get up and move around like him.

  • still gives me the chills after 30 years

  • Sounds like he says"thanks a lot"?

  • gary numan is so underrated. the pleasure principle should be recognized as a classic.

  • trent reznor would be THE GENIUS........ gary begged to back up NIN...........

  • @mysticradio without Numan there wudnt be NIN....

  • Gary Numan and David Bowie, music masters....

  • Oh wow. I was there when this was filmed. :=)

  • I got all choked up when I first heard that last synth line... Its a pretty deep song, when you think about it.

  • theres only M.E Gary - I married a human Gary - this song is about the only robot left on earth -I was that robot Gary

  • Proto Emo but with intellect.

  • ahem... hardly emo!

I mean, after all, show me an emo with intellect & I'll show you a living contradiction in terms!

Numan was, at times, depressed and down in the dumps, (we can all get like that), but for him it was never a full blown life style, s'be fair! :P

  • kk. Basement Jaxx copied it.

  • Great live sound.....makes the song that much better.....

    Thanks for posting

  • i don't have a problem with your comment mate, it's some smart economical sampling from basement jaxx, hats off to them for a good song

  • Yeah Gary could time travel too

  • i have no idea what that means

  • this was 1981...basement jaxx sampled numan.....thats what comment below means!!!!!

  • My favorite Gary's song and one of the best live version.

  • What's the bit of lyrics that he sings, not on the record. "I set out"? At 1:33?

  • I was wondering that too. It sounds like "aye salaa".

  • Could it possibly be "It's a lover" ? I remember once he said in an interview (paraphrase) "there are a lot of things I want to say that I'm not sure I want people to understand"

  • I think he's saying "It's so wrong" which I think is in the record version, just in a different place. I'm not sure though.

  • I wish I was alone.

  • @fleaby you are alone

  • amazing. he was truely one of the sexeist androids ever! love when he smiles.he has got one of the most magnetic smiles ever i think.

  • @lovehoney3 He looks hot with make up on!

  • the most underrated genius in music history?

  • @BlackSkyThunder Yes especially in the U.S.

  • thks for the upload,i love this song, could get the films song for this show too?

  • amazing gary is a legand

  • Superb!

  • king of the 80s

  • He wrote this in 78. Was really far ahead of his time IMO.
