I worked as DJ at a gay bath house, we had stacks of GN. Oingo Boingo, New Order, Yazoo, Pretenders, Wall of Voodoo, Devo, Human League, Grace Jones . . . . just to name a few.
i saw this concert at the tower theatre in philly! it was amazing! Numan is truely underated! He had some bowie influence, but so what! who hasn't ? When your breaking new ground! Numan is a great one!
@marieljoed I also saw the show at the Tower. I was blown away by Nash the Slash, and then Gary came on. I was only familiar with 'The Pleasure Principle' at the time, but the next night I went out and bought everything I could find. I still consider that show the best concert I've ever seen.
Could it possibly be "It's a lover" ? I remember once he said in an interview (paraphrase) "there are a lot of things I want to say that I'm not sure I want people to understand"

Proto Emo but with intellect.
beautydaddy 2 years ago
ahem... hardly emo!
I mean, after all, show me an emo with intellect & I'll show you a living contradiction in terms!
Numan was, at times, depressed and down in the dumps, (we can all get like that), but for him it was never a full blown life style, s'be fair! :P

What's the bit of lyrics that he sings, not on the record. "I set out"? At 1:33?
GumpyBobbyUglyChris 2 years ago 2
I was wondering that too. It sounds like "aye salaa".

I think he's saying "It's so wrong" which I think is in the record version, just in a different place. I'm not sure though.
