Yeah, there was a pretty decent wind. That area is right on top of a hill just west of the Springbank airport, and it gets pretty gusty there almost daily.
Hey, can anyone help me with this question? I am a Primary care paramedic student in Ontario, which would equal an EMT-A in Alberta. Do EMT-A in Alberta give symptom relief drugs? And what is the pay like?
Save your money, or give to a real charity. STARS gets more money than it can spend from big oil companies. They also get paid for trips by Alberta Health. It's a great big SCAM
I am guessing that you have never been there and seen it when S.T.A.R.S has to be called!!! You know what I can tell you first hand that money helps! What are you going to say the Lotos for the childrens hospitals are a scam too. the doctors get paid alberta heath pays for any test that are done there. why do i get the feeling you have no clue what you are talking about and you just like to hear your self talk. or in this case feel all important cause your name is on the web.
i know where you're coming from here. I live like ten blocks from Foothills Medical Center which STARS lands at almost every day. I always hate seeing that red helicopter fly overhead... It usually means something very bad has occurred...
@phonemedic That is what you think.... AHS is the big scam. People who need STARS don't have to pay for it EVER and with maitenance of all the helicopters, they really need it. The lotteries that happen with the children hospitals twice a year is the scam. I know personally from working with STARS it is a great service... Pull your head out of your ass and do some research before flapping your gums
lol Stars is cool, but give credit where credit is due. I'mn sure the FD helped extricate you from your car, and the Ditch Doctors (EMS) helped stabilize you until STAARS arrived......
We have all the Alberta HEMS scenery for X-Plane 9, so I get to do this all day!

We bought a calender and tickets in the lottery this year. This is one of those services I hope to never have to use.

I agree 150% with Justin - a lot happens before Stars flys you to the hospital.
The LZ guy should have been better prepared....
