this is how all RWD vehicles would do, race cars 2. Doesn't matter if the car costs $1 or $400,000 or even $3,000,000. A car that weighs over 2 tons (5.5-6,000 pounds) definitely doesn't get help being RWD. If you need snow get AWD/4WD (JEEPS, 4matic for mercedes, X drive for BMW's) and you will be ok. FWD (what 99% of the masses drive) is better in snow than this, but weight is proportioned different than RWD.

locking differential,..meaning only the RIGHT wheel propels it forward, & BOTH propel in reverse.

Rolls are the Cat's Meow of autos.....personally I don't think Rolls made them with Winter driving in mind!

The spinning of the wheel hung up in snow makes it somewhat useless of a design,..but that is what 99% of RWD vehicles have. My Astrovan does as well.

Snow tires make that a minor annoyance.

I have always found they do spin both when reversing..perhaps due to there being no turning (as in turning a corner..I'm going straight line) bias on the "spiders".

I LOVE RWD either way...my fave design!

Lighter cars simply spin their tires because they don't sink to the pavement thus staying on the slippery snow creating ice spots under their tires. I have had 6 Cadillacs. I have never gotten stuck once. This car has no snow tires on it yet still managed to make the hill. A lighter car would not have been able to do that.

@7ito1990 I have driven both heavy cars and light cars in the snow. Trust me when I tell you that heavy cars are LESS prone to get stuck. The sinking to the pavement provides more traction. The lighter cars stay on top with the wheels spinning. This creates an ice patch under the tires that cause it to become impossible to move. The heavier car doesn't create this ice patch from the heat of the spinning tires on the snow. It sinks to the pavement or dirt and moves ahead.
