The "books" is how winrar or winzip displays a zip file. You can use any zip file manager like 7zip or the windows default. You just have to extract it.

Instructions for Linux users:

download a song and extract it to ~/.fretsonfire/songs. This folder can be made visible in your file manager with Ctrl+h (Nautilus) or Alt+dot (Dolphin). Alternatively, you can just copy the song via the cli: cp -R ~/Downloads/freaking_awesome_s­ong/ ~/.fretsonfire/songs.

Yeah, the links dont work because the dude switched his site n stuff. Thats (was) really the only place i knew to get songs from, but you could try fretsonfire(dot)net, or keyboardsonfire(dot)net.

well then i guess your screwed...but you can always uninstall it and then install it again. when you're installing there should be an option that ask you about the resolution, that's what i did.
