LOL...idiot. Flags can be displayed BOTH ways. If you look at the USA Olympic Baseball team, the flag on their uniform sleeve is displayed the SAME way as President Bush.

The United States Flag Code, passed into law Dec 22, 1942 says "The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, firefighters, police officers, and members of patriotic organizations"

The U.S. Olympic team is breaking that standard. bush is displaying it backwards, disrespecting the flag.

The flag code is more of a quideline than anything else. That's why you see people and organizations not following the code word for word, i.e. displaying the flag horizontally prior to sports events or a mayor authorizing a flag to be flown at half mast for Tim Russert. Also, the code uses the word SHOULD in most of it's language which gives people some latitude and is not definate. It seems so trival to bash Bush for being excited at a sporting event while cheering on our Athletes.

I agree with you, the anthem code is also a quideline and uses the word SHOULD and Obama shouldn't be bashed for not having his hand over his heart. Of course, the Media hypes these things up as witnessed on both Olbermann and O'Reilly shows in both these instances. I wish politics would get back to the issues, instead of bashing folks over flag displays and anthems.
