Swine Flu has gone from 100 cases 2 weeks ago to 6,000 toda with 64 deaths.
6,000 Confirmed cases. For every confirmed case there are at least 100 other cases not tested or confirmed.
Yes, it is lucky that H1N1 has a lower mortality rate - about 10% of people who get it die.
But, that fact was not known 2 weeks ago.
Some Flu like H5N1 has an 80% Mortality rate.
Thank God we have H1N1, but cases are still increasing exponentially. Fear is your response to the FLU. MOT only states the facts.

actually the ppl in US died because they had pre existing medical conditions, as for mexico and everywhere else, they died due to secondary diseases, caused by a weakened immune system. Otherwise its NOT any more harmfull then any other flu.

Actually, Influenza kills 35000 people in the US per year, to most this is a secondary condition to a chronic one that usually causes death. By the way, in case some of you dont know, they are pushing Tamiflu as the medication to take to get rid of it faster. Actually, strawjam, it has been lung failure or pneunomia that seems to have been killing young people in H1N1. Usually, flu kills the very young and the very old because their immune systems are low.
Surprise - H1N1 kills people with very strong immune systems because the immune system overreacts and floods the lungs with fluid - and they cannot breathe. Interesting about Tamiflu. Relenza also works.

The regular flu kills more people per month than the swine flu has. Sure, this could be a pandemic, and it is good to stay healthy whether or not there is one, but we're not all going to die from this. Don't worry so much.

its the fucking flu. regular, healthy people won't die of it. common influenza kills 10000 people a year. swine flu has killed something like a 150 in a month, that's only 1800 people a year. you don't have to prepare for a quarantine, just keep sanitary. wash your hands before meals and after being in a public place. that's it.
