The magnets are set flush inside a specially designed steel "cup" which is build into the bamboo layers so that it is impossible to come out. To get a magnet out you would need to drill thru the steel from the front side and push it out. To get the steel cup out you would need to destroy the product with a chisel and hammer to split the wood. The steel backing the magnet makes it 3 times stronger. Thanks for the inquiry.

since the rare earth magnets are so strong, what do you use to keep the magnets adhered to the bamboo? do they ever break apart from the wood?
