I think Supernatural was a bit too quick making some character evil or killing them off there was much more storytelling potential if some of them stuck around.
Just had a thought - Anna could so easily have stopped Dean, she could have popped in there and begged Dean not to do it if she was so against it. He might have listened to HER. ...yeah...I think Anna's not really as good as she's trying to seem, like maybe she's trying to corrupt Cas or something.
I always thought the reason she didn't go in and talk to Dean was because she wanted to get Cas to see that what was happening, what 'God' had ordered was wrong. That there are good reasons to doubt that God had ordered this. That she realizes this isn't god's work, that it's the work of someone else. She was trying to warn him.
I don't think so. Castiel would stop Anna if she tried to interfere with Dean's torturing of Alastair. That probably explains why she attempted to use words alone to persuade Castiel to relieve Dean of his "duties."
How fast was Cas with his judgements toward Anna and her fall. Then he became the fallen angel himself

I hate the people who hate on Anna, look, I fancy the pants off Castiel too - but it doesn't mean I'm going to burn anyone who comes close to him.

Cass seemed to regret sending her away afterwards.
