Training myself in the intention of pina's works, using her as s stimulus,, well done firstly, she is one of the harder practitioners to base work on if youve not worked in her specific mindframe before. Really look at pina and try to engage with what shes feeling, both as making the material and performing it with her company. Lots of different ways to develop your phrase still but as i said, well done, and be more crazy! (watch the new film too)
@tanzberlin1 And as an Dancer yourself (from what I can tell from your channel), you should also grasp the point that not everyone will like every piece of art.
@funklilass obviously, so thats fine, but has nothing to do with this just being an exercise, sure add a hot tag to your video and youll get in the list of results, but doesnt everyone do that ?
@tanzberlin1 I think your comment is a bit Ridiculous. It has nothing to do with being famous. If you read it properly you will soon realise that Pina Bausch was a stimulus. It was a Educatoinal project by a dancer that has just started out and who admits himself it isn't that good. Thats the thing about Art... no-one starts off perfect. There is a training process and Artist grow. Maybe you should have a look at the channel. Idiot!!!
I don't know who/what Pina Baush is, because I'm just a music student, but I can definitely see Rite of Spring in the movements. However, the movements are where it stops. I'm missing the anguish/agitation (can't think of the right word) the Chosen One must have felt while she danced (I can only assume from what I see that this was your inspiration?). This is just what I thought. Perhaps I just need to learn more about dance before I voice my opinions.
The video does not grasp the emotional and psychological content of the choreography, only the new technique you are learning, which is all part of the work. Choreography has many layers to master beyond just memorizing steps and getting some technique under your belt, but it's all a process and deepens over time. This is Pina Baush in it's early phase of development. Good job! Keep on working and even though it's annoying/ listening to criticism /don't let anything negative get you down.
to be "good" it doesnt have to look good! i think this screams pina bausch, im in my first year and am going to use the chair setting from cafe muller for my next choreographic piece im really excited!
