I'm not really part of the generation that played Sonic growing up, but I do remember playing it at some time in my childhood. I can't even remember on which platform. Also: 1000th comment!!
Come on, I understand that Sonic was awesome and that Chaotix was super annoying, but Amy Rose wasn't THAT much of an abomination. In fact, she's much worse. Just kidding >.> I mean, Sega makes fun of her crush on Sonic, which makes my day many times over. Silver kicks ass, and Shadow is that mysterious parallel character that just is so cool. I love Sonic, Sonic 2, and Sonic 3, but this simple game concept became Sonic X and the Sonic universe we know and love today.
In my opinion, Shadow is cool but just a tiny bit over AND underrated. Shadow the hedgehog 2 should be made since the first one was bad, but then he'll get overrated again because almost everyone loves him. People should stop overrating him and think about the lost characters:
Might, Ray, Fang, Bean, and Bark. They deserve to make one last appearance outside the comics before Sega decides to wipe them.
Sonic's always had a story. Every Sonic manual started with a story. The series has expanded and it's a good thing. SEGA continues to work their asses off on new games for Sonic, but the fanbase refuses to give them even a little credit for their hard work. Well, I say this. Let's see you make a better game.

I actually like the new games. 06 is the only truly terrible game, Heroes was annoyingly kid-targeted, Shadow was poorly made and Riders went downhill with every game. Robotnik created Sonic (and Miles "Tails" Prowler) and the Chaos Emeralds were the key to "everything" in the game's universe, and to beat Robotnik, Sonic would have to find them all and become the yellow Super Sonic. Or else, Robotnik and his huge robot corporation would destroy their homes to build a new dystopian city. You're also rescuing tiny animals while you kill enemies or are in a bossfight, which Robotnik has captured to do experiments with
Sonic game without a plot doesn't make any sense. If you think that Sonic doesn't need to make any sense, then why the hell are you even play these games? If you can't stand to think that Sonic can have a good enough plot then just ignore it, it's not like Sonic will run slower because of that.

I still have the urge to lock myself in my room and play it while crying. I always cried when I sent them into the forest. I also feel weird when I sit down and think about how old that game is going to be when I'm an adult and how I'll still be playing it. I also begin to rage when I watch this video at the end when the "Don't Want Shadow" begins.

I like both the old and new games. True, Shadows sucks and sort of does Silver (especially how different he works in '06) true in Riders using the Skates does make you go a little slower and Amy is a completely useless character. (Breathes Heavily) Flickies are so effin coooooot!

Even the first two Sonic-games had a story:
Robotnik created Sonic (and Miles "Tails" Prowler) and the Chaos Emeralds were the key to "everything" in the game's universe, and to beat Robotnik, Sonic would have to find them all and become the yellow Super Sonic. Or else, Robotnik and his huge robot corporation would destroy their homes to build a new dystopian city. You're also rescuing tiny animals while you kill enemies or are in a bossfight, which Robotnik has captured to do experiments with

Sonic game without a plot doesn't make any sense. If you think that Sonic doesn't need to make any sense, then why the hell are you even play these games? If you can't stand to think that Sonic can have a good enough plot then just ignore it, it's not like Sonic will run slower because of that.

Sonic Adventure 2: Battle with all the Chaos and what-not.
I still have the urge to lock myself in my room and play it while crying. I always cried when I sent them into the forest. I also feel weird when I sit down and think about how old that game is going to be when I'm an adult and how I'll still be playing it. I also begin to rage when I watch this video at the end when the "Don't Want Shadow" begins.

I still have an original Sega console and the original Sonic game. I wasn't alive when it came out but it was my dad's.
The only other Sonic game I have is Sonic Advance (GBA)
I only ever play as Sonic or Knuckles. Amy shouldn't even be on that game, she's shit. >:T
