Stories like this are SSOO sad,but can be very well prevented if the parent(that has the child in their care)paid MORE attention to the well beings of their child.R-I-P baby KELSEY.You dont have to be hurt by those MONSTERS no more.I feel so BAD for her daddy.Serving the country overseas and then to come home to his bay girls grave site instead of having her in his arms.Im so sorry Kelseys dad and his family.

Im sorry but her mother cannot say she did not know abuse was going on to her child.C'mon,2 broken legs,bruises.I as a single mother was in a relationship with a man when my boys approached me and said"Mommy we don't like him because he is mean".They were only 4 and 6 at the time,but scared of him.He never physically hurt them but they couldjust feel that he was not a good man.He just had this tone I guess.But I called him and ended it.My kids come 1st.So theres NO excuse 4 the mother.

FYI... when an unrelated male moves into the home..the risk of child abuse sky rockets by at least 7 times. Moms start paying more attention to your kids..they should come before your boyfriends.

the bottom line is....Mike Porter killed this little girl and Raye Dawn married him and allowed him access to the child. She should have known Kelsey was being abused by him. Raye Dawn was sentenced to 27 years in prison for a reason. She did NOTHING to protect her daughter. All her family does is bad mouth Kelsey's Dad Lance when he did not kill her. Shame on the whole Smith family they are totally disgusting. All they do is work tirelessly to free a child abuser.
