  • Relaxing. Sounds pretty good to me. It's very coherent and the baroque harmony glues the tune in place. Good work!

  • beautiful ^^

  • sounds really good where did you come up with the idea ??

  • That is impressive, I don't even know how to read music and only write simple songs on guitar not even knowing what notes I am playing most of the time.

Certainly sounds more sophisticated than rock music lol.

  • ....nice!

  • I like it. I took piano lessons growing up, so I have an appreciation for this style of music. Very nice. Lots of luck with it! The song melody takes you on a pleasing journey. Best, signed, The Tone King

  • Nice one!!

    Go on with it!!

    Best wishes

  • Well done, I really enjoyed this.

  • Excellent.*****

  • I wish I could notate and compose by writing actual notes on a paper. I can barely read tabs..

  • Learn the piano for a few months if you want to learn how to read and write music specifically. A good piano teacher will have you doing it in no time. Well, any piano teacher, in my opinion.

  • Very nice,Matthew.

It reminds me of fall turning to winter.

The last leaves are falling & the sun is not shining.

  • You're not far off. The form of the music was inspired by the environment I was in at the time.

  • Great composition, thanks for the invite.

  • Beautiful music

  • Glad to see this channel's still alive. I've been composing quite a bit, but have been unable to upload anything due to technical difficulties...

Great orchestral piece here. Any reason why you chose to show your own handwritten score rather than one generated by the computer?

  • Because I wrote it by hand, and it also looks cool. :D

  • Your hand-written work is actually rather more interesting to me than would be the computer print-out. Although not a great fan of Baroque music, I do find this interesting asa study of the creative process. You wrote in your comments of the time it took to write this and then to tweak it into an aesthetic form for presentation. This is always the hard part in any art, the goal being to re-adjust the rest of the world to your vision. You're off to a good start here.

  • Hey Jay, nice to see your music "buisiness" is going good.. Keep it up, it won't take long until people will realize again what music is about and what is real music!

  • I'm happy just sharing my music via this channel right now. I'm glad that composers such as yourself enjoy my work.

  • You've certainly put a lot fo effort into making this work with midi - I wouldn't have the patience. I like the second half best where the texture is a bit more varied and also thins out a bit. Also, do you modulate very much in this piece?

  • The piece is all in one key with few simple chords, so little modulation.

The music just went where it went, so tonically I allowed little variation on account of the simple exposition you hear continually repeated. This is on account on my feeling the theme didn't need to "go anywhere" and the inexperience I have with writing for 7 voices!

When I'm trying something new and a little more difficult in any avenue of my life, simplicity is always a nice option to ease into it.

  • wonderful

  • Thanks.

  • i like the second half. its good. but i would still recommend some pain. go out there and get beaten by life. :)) also, don't take my advice! :) you're good.congrats.

  • That's the strangest comment I've ever received.

  • strange comment, but I understand it...pain can inspire beauty for sure. this piece is nice, a bit serene for even you...I'd like to hear what you'd like played at your funeral...but that aside, nice work, hard to write for several voices...

  • Glad you enjoyed it, P. I've written a few works that I think would be pretty good for my eventual funeral, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves. I'd like to live a long time, if given the option!

Pain sure has played a major role in my music over the years. I'd rather not go out there to be purposely beaten by life, however!

I was rather heart broken when I wrote this one.

  • now that you mention it, you can hear the pain at the beginning, but it changes during the song to a different feel, more serene towards the end.

  • Cool... as in peaceful... The World needs more like this

  • this is a nice orchestra song that has cool counter part and unison part.
