@mrsouthcentral42021 - it's usually best to inspect before you buy so you know what you're getting into. Not all sellers will be cool with some tests, esp. pressurizing the coolant system.

If you want to make sure the inspection is done well, download a form like the one at OnPoint Inspection and bring that to the mechanic to use.

how do i check if a dealer put in new oil to cover up bad oil?

easy pull the dipstick, see if the oil is black/burned/smells funny, or drain the oil yourself and you'll know right away if the oil is clean or dirty.

Let me explain. There is no such thing as "bad oil". Oil just gets polluted. The only thing not changing oil in a car could really do is cause more wear on the bearings and possibly oil pump. New oil is generally not a bad sign, especially if you're buying from a dealer. You should be able to tell if the bearings are bad if you've watched any of the other videos I've seen this freakin' comment on.

definitely keep the ka24..just fully tune it...its a lot more respectful when people get the top power out of the stock engine in stead of going the easy route and dropping an sr in it...and keep the zenki look...thats how its supposed to be...if you want a kouki you might as well of bought the 98'...

i think that you should the s15 conversion or rb engine swap as well. or even changing the seats. i am a bit biased because i did the rb25 and the s15 conversion on mine. but i would like to see what other people do to theirs though or how you would do yours to see if there is anywhere that i could improve.

it should take them about an hour to do the entire inspection, so with the labor rates now days, it should be between 60-90 bux. Their also called Preventative Maintenance (PM) checks.

complete tune up get your car tested when it is fully warmed up check your o2 sensor and cat

go to a mechanic and find out if the catalytic converter and O2(oxygen) sensor are ok.

if they are, get the engine shampood and then soon after that change the oil, oil filter, and spark plugs all in one appointment.

when you go to take the emmissions test, fill up your tank with ethanol enriched gasoline (10-30%) ethanol, and then go for a highway drive at high RPMs (go in a lower gear than normal but don't redline) until the engine is really hot, then take the test right then

fully built sr20, full internals and port out the head. big top mount turbo. n focus more on the performance aspect of the car. don't go ka-t, it's essentially a truck motor... go with something that was meant to be raced.

Stay Ka and turbo it, build bottom end and top end before going high boost. Stay zenki and get navan front, kouki skirt and rear valances..nice wheels go 17 or 18's. since that KA still have good compression its going to be a good engine to turbo..upgrade suspension:coils,RUCA,bushings­,sway bars..ect..

White paint would look nice. Upgrade to Z32 calipers.
