Oh sorry. Didn't know that. Thanks for the info. There must be tribes of men called Jim(my) Gordon. Can anyone tell me who the other performers were? Thanks in advance.
I would guess that the guitarist is Dave Burgess of The Champs (of Tequila fame). He co-wrote the song, they were on the same label and he used to do a lot of work as session musician. But again, I am only guessing.. :-)
I had to ask Mike Gordon of The Markettes and Surfer's Stomp fame about this, and from him I got the impression it's Jimmy Gordon the drummer. But I cannot confirm if it's the same Gordon as in The Dominos and I really don't want to bother ask Michael again.. :-)
What really makes me think it's two different Jimmy Gordon, is this comment:
"There are no guitars here, either. As a pure studio concoction, the question of what a group named Peter Pan & the Good Fairies might have looked like in performance is gracefully eliminated as well. The futuristic Kaleidoscope was in reality the brainchild of Jim Jimmy Gordon, a session bassist (I believe) who recorded a few other 60s instrumental freakouts on the Challenge label."
Jim Gordon is one of the greatest drummers of all time.(just ask Hal Blaine) Jim's studio work speaks for itself. Hopefully in the near future , he'll be swingin again on his beautiful Camco drum kit. Got to see him with the Dominoes on Thanksgiving 1970 and was messmerized. Good luck to you Jimmy Gordon.
its on the challenge label do you know what that means? it means that glen cambell and seals and crofts probably played on it ,see the initials G A on the label thats gene autry.

This Jimmy Gordon has nothing to do with Jim Gordon the drummer in Dominos. This guy played bass.
