@SteikeTuln I haven't heard a song in my country from Kurt Nilsen other than U2's cover. So if he really writes his own stuff, then he's not doing a good job at it. Kelly an ok voice? She sang Natural Woman 10x better in American Idols than she did at World Idol, now I don't know if Kelly doesn't write her own songs in the past, but she does write her own stuff now, so... Actually an album before that 1 was fully written by her aswell, and I think 2 songs were famous on it.

The sad part of these contests is that only a handful will have major careers. Cowell could care less about their success in the long run. As long as they sell a few albums and he makes money out of them, he will be happy. Fans are interested in the present contestants and often don't care of the past years winners. The formula is half a success and half a failure. A lot of talent is discovered, but the music industry does not have room for all of them. Just my opinon and I could be wrong.

@theinvid I disagree, I'm not from America or Norway, and I do agree his voice is amazing, but it was so much Karaoke, sounded similiar to Bono's recorded version, which is just wrong imo. Kelly really sang amazing, and even though she didn't try the note that she hit in American Idol, I still feel she should have won.

@xSaikusu But Kurt Nilsen is a real musician. He makes his own melodies and lyrics. Kelly Clarkson is in the business because of her looks and an ok voice, but her songs get made by producers etc. So in my opinion, Kurt deserves to be the World Idol because he has a fantastic voice and he is a real musician who can sing, play guitar, piano and and make his own lyrics and melodies.

It`s easy to hear a swede, dutch, germay, etc due to their tone in their native laguage which they also use talking english, but when we speak we speak "flat" as the brits are doing. But looking at our vocabulary we`er not better than an average western europeean, with exceptions of the french. Probably a german would easy adapt into Scottish accent due to their r- sound.

I've always wondered why there wasn't another World Idol. It never was supposed to be about what people really wanted but what sponsors could sell.
