thats crazy speed man what kine of pinion and spur set up, i hit 60with the stock gears , i was wondering if u had any servo problems when u would full throttle and the servo would twitch to the right or left,thanks for serving r country
@BigB1zzl3 I'm keeping the gears to my self for now just until I compete, the steering issue happend to me also. The way to fix it is to open the tires into a V shape or open toe, that will make the car go straighter. but you need to play with it until you get it right. Thanks for watching.
I just got a Ofna JL-10, and Robinson Racing has 48 pitch spurs as small as 49 teeth and pinions as large as 47 teeth. Im waiting for them to arrive next week. Im going to see how fast a Traxxas setup will go in a lighter, smaller car with a final drive of 2.61:1

@mreid08 You are right....the motor is rated for only 2 cells . I tested with the 4 cells and is holding good so far. The only thing is that if you get this motor or any motor and you are doubling the cell amount YOU NEED TO LET THE MOTOR COOL DOWN AFTER MABE 2 PASSES. The 7700 and 9000kv motors are for drag racing and they need to cool down after 1 or 2 passes. The 7700kv can take 5cells (not recommend it if you dnt have the money to repair it if its brake) And you are welcome!!
I have the Thunder AC680 battery charger...what type of balance connector does it have?...I would like to purchase LiPo batteries with compatible balance connectors...How do I know if the balance connectors are the align style, or the Thunder Power style, or the PolyQuest/PolyRC, or others? Could you tell me what type of balance connectors come with specific brand LiPo batteries? Please let me know. Your info. would be greatly appreciated.
@ussprinceton2004 That is a great charger and I belive that it has the JST balancing connector which is the most common connector for lipos batteries. Try this lipo batteries from this website (hobbypartz), they are prety good. this are the ones that I use in my cars.

Exceed cars are awesome once you swamp a more powerful motor and some top speed gearing. Plus its much cheaper to build and mod than some brand name cars. Whats the point of buying some 300 buck traxxas car if your gonna end up swamping the motors and esc out anyway right?

@TTibble it is actually 1120mph scale. u just need to multiply the scale times the speed, so 112mph x 10th scale= 1120mph in 10th scale. Thanks for whatching!!!

@mayantribe correct the higher the kv the faster it is but you will loose tork, so at this time for me the new 7700kv 4pole 1406 model from Castle Creations is performing better than the 9000kv 2pole motor from CC. With the 7700kn 4pole I can realy go big with the pinion and pushes the car faster than the 9000kv.
@Th0ma5100 the motor is a 1/10 scale motor or a 36 mm can. the 2200kv for the revo is made for tork. not for high speeds. but if you can get a 2650kv castle creations motor and use a mamba XL esc with 6 or 8 lipo cells then you will see some awesome speeds.
How long of a run was that? I hit 102Mph in 300ft. Flipped 20ft. infront of the finish. chk out our Vids. stlrcracing... leave comments. This is STL BEST.....

what was the gearing on this?i know its not much more of a differance but hobbywing has a 9100 kv cencored motor. think you could drop that in there? ise the 1/8 150 amp and you can then use 6s! just gear it right

@yucahead13 what gear setup are you running? I have a TC4 with a 9000kv mamba pro max running a 31 pinion and 61 spur gear and i'm no where close to this speed. Maybe 80mph on a good day.
@yucahead13 I'm only using a 2cell with a 90c burst rate. People keep telling me not to use the 3 cell , because it will mess up the motor or esc, or whatever. I've still used it once, an it was a big difference, but not triple digits maybe mid 80's; and with the 2 cell about high 60's. People keep saying its my gearing, but 34/61 is pretty good for a 9000. Now if i had a 2200kv on there its a different story, but I want to hit triple digits with the 9000kv before I do that.
@2ndtonone1000 if you want to go 100mph on that gearing you need to bump the cells to 3 or 4 cells. In my video I'm using 4 cells BUT! I let the motor cool down completly before I do another pass. I burn 2 esc's and 1 motor because I did not let the system cool down. On my set up I have 48t spur and 24t pinion 32pitch not 48 pitch. With what you have (31t pinion/ 61t spur) you should be breaking 100 on 4 cells remember to COOL DOWN YOUR SYSTEM AFTER EACH RUN, get the biggest pinion u can fit.
@yucahead13 I have another question for you? What was your reasoning for going with the exceed rather then a TC4 or TC5? Most of the videos i've seen on youtube have people using TC4 and TC3's and hitting over 120mph. I was just wondering is there something you see in the Exceed that gives you confidence of its quality over the TC3 and TC4 chasis and set up?
@2ndtonone1000 No exact reason or quality preference @ 1st I bought the Exceed Drift Star so originaly my car was a drifter, then I put street tires & I started to mess with the pinions 2 see how big can I go. My goal is to be in the International RC Speed Challenge in the Electric Modified. Last year Nic Case made the world record with 143Mph, the second place speed was 116mph and I know in the next few months I'll be in the the 120 to 130mph range with this car. With what you have (31t pinion/ 61t spur) you should be breaking 100 on 4 cells remember to COOL DOWN YOUR SYSTEM AFTER EACH RUN, get the biggest pinion u can fit.

@yucahead13 I have another question for you? What was your reasoning for going with the exceed rather then a TC4 or TC5? Most of the videos i've seen on youtube have people using TC4 and TC3's and hitting over 120mph. I was just wondering is there something you see in the Exceed that gives you confidence of its quality over the TC3 and TC4 chasis and set up?

@2ndtonone1000 No exact reason or quality preference @ 1st I bought the Exceed Drift Star so originaly my car was a drifter, then I put street tires & I started to mess with the pinions 2 see how big can I go. So there was no preference, I just wanted a drifter. Now Exceed RC & Redcat Racing are my sponsors for the International Straight-line Challenge held in Fontana, CA this year. I'm realy confident that my car will be hitting 135+ soon. If you have questions pls ask me & I'll help you.

i have the lightening epx pro as well. toughest onroad out there!
the drivetrain is bullet proof and its quick in stock form. slap a crazy brushless system like they did and speed is as fast as you can handle.

I'll bring my bicycle helment, socker shin guards, my daughter barbie knee pads & my shooting glasses next time so no one can say that we aren't safe !!! I was the camera man and lemme tell ya, seeing that car come at me at that speed was unreal. There would have been no time to react if things went wrong. I put my life on the line!! I deserve something!! I know!! A crash helmet! Ha!
I dug every minute of it. Even if it meant wearing a mamba max pro in my dome for a while.
LETS BREAK 120 ALREADY!!

Cont...Like I said, I gladly share what I did with the car over the phone or via email. I told my friends about what the car is capable of doing and they didn't belived me until they saw the car going that fast, and..... is going to be faster soon. My goal is to be in the International RC Speed Challenge in the Electric Modified. Last year Nic Case made the world record with 143Mph, the second place speed was 116mph and I know in the next few months I'll be in the the 120 to 130mph range with this car. We can talk offline of what I've done with the car not in here in the opend cus I don't want to give away what this car can do b4 I compete. I want to try to win and currently I'm looking for sponsors. Pls think about it and let me know.

Can you share exactly what mods you have done other than the motor and ESC. I own Redcat (the company) and even I find this hard to believe that you got this much speed out of the car.
