  • this song pretty much defines music. the way it impacts you when you listen to it, is just beyond something you'd imagine. my parents don't get how much music means to me, but this pretty much sums up everything. <3

  • 'Life In Technicolor'. The title of this instrumental is the big clue that LP4 is a fantasy piece. It's not set in the real world. It's like life in a fantasy movie. There is no description of the main lady, so she can be whoever you want her to be. Listeners, if they're a couple, can also imagine themselves on the adventure on this record. The events will be told with the words & the music will depict scenes too.

  • why they recorded this song in a worse quality than the rest of the album??

  • Coldplay didn't steal anything - one of the albums producers, Jon Hopkins, gave them his song sampling as a gift to work with. If you look up "The Escapist - Coldplay" you get the full product.

  • we played this song in our marching band show c:

  • The beginning was stolen from "Jon Hopkins - Light Through The Veins"... get original coldplay.

  • @AminoBase wasn't "stolen" it was provided by the co producer of this album who happened to be Jon Hopkins. Ignorant moron.

  • I absolutely have no words to describe this song....

  • the beginning --------> jon hopkins-light through the veins

  • love the beginning

  • coldplay music is just beautiful

  • every time i hear this i have tears of joy...

  • i think every time about big cities in the night when i hear this song

  • this is my life's soundtrack

  • If you like this song you will like jon hopkins light through the veins and try camfire also. Amazing

  • Love the lyrics in this.........absolutely perfect

  • the like bar seems a pencil with a small eraser

  • john hopkins- life through the veins

  • china

  • love this song

  • watch?v=iJ3zAnd72eI

  • this s gonna be my anthem for the week

  • these lyrics are deep

  • @aerobat97 Sadly they were written by crazy people that only have money on their minds :P (definately not written by coldplay or any of its members)

  • @FreddieMercuryOwns there are no lyrics?

  • @JackCAFC Yes there are, sir. This is an instrumental version.

  • @FreddieMercuryOwns no you are wrong. go and buy the album "viva la vida or death and all his friends", you will find this is the original version and the 1st track on the album.

  • @JackCAFC On the same album, you find the version with lyrics. Seriously mate, i'm 100% sure, I have listened to it just now.

  • @JackCAFC It has a clip, with coldplay's members, and children, probably funded with a few millions from their producer. It was a real hit, and on the radio, they always play the pop-version WITH lyrics. Just check it, you'll see i'm right.

  • @FreddieMercuryOwns im coldplays biggest fan i know im right. youre thinking of "Life in Technicolor ii" it's not on the album, it is on Prospekt's March" which is the b-side album.

  • @JackCAFC I was unaware that II wasn't on the same album, but as I said, there is a version with lyrics. And it's very "pop"-ish, makes me feel like i'm listening to some generic boyband :P

So yes, you are right, it is not on the same album, however i'm still right about the existance of a version with lyrics.

  • @FreddieMercuryOwns no your still wrong. You said this was an instrumental version. It's not.

And Coldplay isn't some sellout band. They've always been like this, one way or another. Just because they don't make the same album over and over again doesn't mean they're not Coldplay anymore or that they pay people for lyrics. Sorry. @JackCACF was right.

  • @diesmiley As I said: "So yes, you are right, it is not on the same album, however i'm still right about the existance of a version with lyrics."

So no, I wasn't wrong, but he was also right. If you properly read my statement that is..

  • @diesmiley Oh, and it's not even their song. /watch?v=FALlFurHTUw

  • Coldplay's music relax me! :)

  • Richard Halley Fifth Concerto...

  • Just to let you know, the beginning was sampled from Jon Hopkins' Light Through The Veins.

  • Close your eyes. Turn this up relatively loud.

Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a forest. It's misty out, and cool, but you're not cold. There's a light breeze. The sky is gray and cloudy. Suddenly, the wind picks up and lifts you up. You begin to rise above the trees, higher and higher until you reach their tops. There are water droplets on the leaves. You brush your hand against them. The wind picks up even more. You begin to fly. You burst through the clouds. Welcome.

  • @IWork4Dessert But how do i read it if my eyes are closed?

  • @Bellyrox11 By being amazing and psychic. I don't know ahaha, this song puts me in a funny mood.

  • @IWork4Dessert lol well coldplay does do that :)

  • @IWork4Dessert I've just read both your comments here. I swear you're a very pro therapist or something :D

  • @snapshotcrew I APPROVE. Your swear makes me happy. You have a peachy day.

  • I like ii better, but this is awesome!!!!!

  • The beginning sequence is Light Through the Veins by Jon Hopkins, right?

  • Pretti :)

  • 83 people must be blind.

  • Wait, no words??

  • @SpeakOut17 life in technicolor ii has words

  • 2011 and I still cant get enough <3

  • 2:30 is just way too short for a song like this

  • 0:54....

    Goosebumps!

  • To me, this is what love feels like.

  • im gonna make a lyrics video of this

    WINNING :P

  • this song just makes me so happy.

the kind of happy that makes you feel as thought your heart might burst.

the kind of happy that makes you wanna cry tears of joy.

the kind of happy you just wanna soak up and keep forever and ever.

the kind of happy that words can't express.

    <3

  • @peacelovemusic1437 talkin bout meth???

  • This is the kind of music I would love to hear everyday into my life. :)

  • I loose my shirt in office while I'm hearing this.

  • This is the only song to have ever made me cry. It's just that beautiful.

  • I feel like I'm releasing all my inner strength on my homework right now. Oh dear.

  • This song takes me to another world across oceans and time.

  • This song is definitely the work of Brian Eno

  • @JackCAFC And! Jon Hopkins AND! Coldplay.

  • the intro is like my favorite part, its orgasmic, like it almost pisses me off that they didnt make the intro a song!!!!! like the first 35 sec

  • @MrLovethedrums for everybody who wants to know, the introduction part is by Jon Hopkins from his song "Light through the veins"! :))

  • @merovingio89 thank you...i love you:)

  • There should be an automatic reply button.

  • youtuberepeat no need for a replay button

  • Who else can make two episodes of a song like Coldplay's Life in Technicolor and Life in Techincolor II?? ONLY COLDPLAY :D

  • I like how it has that kind of eerie intro of Cemeteries of London fading in as this song fades out.

  • Wish they would come up with a third version sometime. The life in technicolor series is by far some of the best music Ive ever heard.

  • @XDKX101 i hate your type of person too

  • @Goodrichinator the hell you talking bout? lol

  • 15 year old girl holds hands with her 1 year old son. People call her a "slut", no one knows she was raped at age 14. People call another guy "fat", no one knows he has a serious disease causing him to be overweight. People call an old man "ugly", no one knows he experienced a serious injury to his face while fighting for our country in the war. Re-post this if you are against bullying and stereotyping. I bet 88of you won't.th other 22arent heartless and will.

  • @taikisama96 88+22 doesn't make 100

  • @taikisama96 your so much better than everyone for posting this huh?

  • @taikisama96 fuck off

  • This song reminds me of Skins series 1 and 2. Miss those guys so much :)

  • could anyone tell me how the chords till 0:30 are, please??

  • @DeepThoughtsMusic I've got the sheet music to this song, I could send it to you if you want, if you give me your e-mail address?

  • Brian Eno's production very much noticable in the start. And in the either album really.

  • @shrimpfarmersunion the start of the song is taken from a Jon Hopkins song, who worked on Eno's new album

  • @mambo4dude light through the veins, great song.

  • I like this version more.

  • @icydrake535 its practically the instrumental version of ii

  • who else thinks this song is a real song to listen to while playing minecraft, brill song btw

  • @ManicMike26 yes it would be a great song to listen to minecraft to

  • the original was by jon hopkins, it's ten minutes long.

  • @claireeexobear only if this song were 10 minutes

  • i lost my viva la vida album in a bet :(

  • @whywewc if i lost this album in a bet.......i wouldn't give it up :P

  • Checkout Jon Hopkins, a wonderful musician who produced this song. The intro song is called Light Through the Veins.

  • This was my wedding march. This song brings my heart such hope for the future. Both upbeat and thoughtful. I do agree with the general consensus: Too Short:)

  • 76 PEOPLE ARE COLORBLIND

  • @Sashimisoul I'M COLOR BLIND BUT I PRESS THE LONGER BUTTON!!!

  • Thank you to Jon Hopkins for creating this beautiful intro to the song! Props to Jon Hopkins, I recommend people check out his music :)

  • I wish they didn't chop off the opening of this song in "Life In Technicolor II".

  • Dude this guy Jon Hopkins stole this song!! What an asshole!

  • @Housemoe This is actually Jon Hopkin's song called "light through the veins" and he also co-produced this album so they incorporated the song into this track :)

  • 2571 people thought that the song was long enough

  • I gotta say, i'm not a huge Coldplay fan, a little too mainstream for my taste, but no one can deny that this is just a fantastic song

  • @smuknuy lol u so hipster

  • @smuknuy what does too mainstream even mean? if its good it goes. nothing wrong with liking good music..

  • 2 years ago my wife walked down the aisle to this song, it still gives me goosebumps, no better way to start our own life in technicolour, thank you coldplay

  • This song is absolutely beautiful!<3 makes me fell content:)

  • I LOVEEEE THIS SONGGGG! COLDPLAY = MUSIC I CAN FEEL <3

  • This song is perfect.

    The album cover is perfect.

    The album title is perfect.

    <3

  • J'aime cette.

  • perfect song for credits to a movie.

  • This song reminds me of a girl I have a crush on! =)

  • i sing along to this song everytime with the 2nd version, shame the chorus doesnt quite fit!

  • The intro to this song takes my breath away every time

  • @Karinabinaa It's by Jon Hopkins :D

  • i love the version and the other one too <3 :) long live coldplay!

  • @juliacrunkxo VIVA LA COLDPLAY!

  • @sandninja88 i agree! :) viva la coldplay <3

  • big up Jon Hopkins intro!! never heard this track from the start, man's a legend

  • Great song. It fits so well as the 1st track.

It's like they're saying 'welcome to our world. enjoy yourself. Viva la vida'

  • Proves a song definetly doesn't need a singer to sound beautiful

  • absolutely love this track, can't wait until day after tomorrow, I'll be enjoing their live performance :)

  • this song could be good if they extended the music like 6 or 7 minutes long. the guitar is very good indeed, but i think they were afraid that their fans weren't able do understand a song without the poppy patterns. coldplay is one of the boriest bands ever.

  • @somekindofaperson Wow. First of all, you have awful taste if you think Coldplay is boring. Secondly, there is NO such word as "boriest". It is "most boring", as in "Your life is the most boring because you lack the joy and perfection of Coldplay in your life."

  • @somekindofaperson too courageous opinion for "true" coldplay fans. I agree with you. This song has potential to be much better than Life In Technicolor II.

  • ...So beautiful, it makes me cry because to me it shows the finiteness of all things and the irony with which we have to accept that. .... and omg, i listen to it the whole f****** day because i'm more than hopeless at the moment. -.- It helps to suffer reality.

  • This song is awesome but it has one problem: it ends.

  • @InsertZipCode put it on repeat. My favorite part is from 0:00 to :39

  • @toolfann67 That part is the song "The Escapist" by Coldplay, and yes, it is longer. Although still very short (off the top of my head it is 2:40 long).

  • @InsertZipCode

    I quick-scooped your dislike button.. sorry D:

  • @InsertZipCode i hate your type of person

  • this is just an awesome crescendo song!!! id like to see someone put life in technicolour 1 & 2 together =D !!

  • To me this is the real end to album. But because Coldplay are so ingenious, this song is also the beginning - It's so hard to explain but so easy to understand. I guess some things in life are better explained through song, such as this beautiful one.

  • this.

    yes, this.

  • This song is the end of the Night At The Museum 2

  • we are playing this for our marching band! sooo excited!!!

  • 1:52...eargasm!

  • Sample from Jon Hopkins - Light through the veins

  • @ChilLemonade Well spotted, but isn't this the other way around? This Coldplay song was released in 2008, and Light Through The Veins not until 2009 I think. Amazing track from Jon Hopkins though. Amongst the most mesmerising pieces of music I have ever heard.

  • Just spotted that Jon Hopkins was a sound engineer for Coldplay on this album, so maybe it did come from him after all!

  • @znmex3r

Yeah Coldplay loved the Jon Hopkins song so much they sampled it in this and 'the escapist'. Hopkins is a credited writer i think.

  • A simply life-changing, sublime piece of music. Amazing for so many reasons.

  • This song give me a power to live, to believe that everything what I want, I can do it. Somebody want to go to University, buy the car, which he always dreamed about, wedding with his/her love, beat disease, live at house next to the beach, be a good football player... Everybody has some dream, wish...

This is the song for the moment, when you stay, looking around, smile and say to yourself I GOT IT!!!

GOOD LUCK GUYS YOU CAN DO IT!!!

  • @thejasminne1 I dream to be able to make music like this.

  • aint it dumb when all the highest rated comments are just shitty unfunny dislike jokes

  • sounds like a song to put at the end of an action movie or some other dramatic film

  • My mother's advice to me when I was 17 and ready to leave home with my little suitcase and £47.... 'there's a big world out there - go and grab a piece of it '... and then Dad said: 'remember always live your life in technicolour..never boring black and white..'. I saw them 8 yrs later - married, son, many mistakes, many successes but with a few million in the bank. Dad said: 'Good lad - told ya - technicolour!' Absolutely true. He gave my sisters the same advice... TECHNICOLOUR - ha...

  • brb raping the replay button. i just got my report card, and a 3.8 GPA. WOOOO. xD this is the song that first popped into my head when i got it /nerd.

  • If anyone wants to hear a longer version look up Jon Hopkins light through vens he was the original composer for this song coldplay just added a bit to it

  • look up "while the city sleeps - back when we knew", very similar big and colourful soundscapes!

  • this song never fails to put a smile on my face, love it:)

  • was this in 127 hours?

  • i <3 this song.love.live.you.coldplay.

  • its awesome when you wake up and go outside at 6 and wait for the sun to slowly rise and when its just right i play this song loud........when i do this it truly becomes the start of a beautiful day.......and its awesome cuz my neighbors wake up happy too

  • 75 people didn't think this song was long enough

  • @RainbowManification Well, I would agree with them, but that's still not a reason to dislike it.

  • @RainbowManification lol did you take the time read that and find out?

  • 75 personas son negativas

  • i bet more than half the views for this are mine!

  • some people are very greedy for they hit the dislike button wanting more of coldplay

  • if this song would be infinite the world will be perfect

  • I'm glad Coldplay kept off the lyrical version of the song that is on Prospekts March.

It works so well as an intro and although different to other Coldplay it's still instantly recognisable as Coldplay. How can they create such distinctive music? If you haven't heard the rift from this then you've been living in a box!

  • @MrRascasseman

Both are very good though. :)

  • Esta é a trilha sonora que marcou uma faze minha junto ao show 2010 Life in Technicolor tudo de bom

  • DEAR LORD? THIS IS HEAVEN.

  • i´m having eargasm! OMG!!

  • How come I only see my views?

  • Avvolte per esprimere la felicità le parole non servono :)

    PER UNA VITA IN TECHNICOLOR!!!!!!!!

To express the happiness wrapped the words do not need :)

    FOR A LIFE IN TECHNICOLOR!!!!!!!
