Excuse me, I went back and watched that one more time. Ron Paul won the text vote with 54 percent and the paper vote with 27 percent. Makes sense considering my theory. Another problem though is with the paper vote Gingrich only trailed him with 4 percent which Perry now backing him, could move him way up. So there's a mixed bag there. If every eligible voter of Gen X and after voted I know Ron Paul would win, problem is our generation's reluctance to vote.

Awesome! and with Rick Perry gone that should leave even more of the Texas votes for Ron Paul. Only problem is if this poll was taken by text, the majority of those votes were from younger people who are much more likely to text than vote as opposed to older people who are much more likely to vote than text.

I'm a huge RP fan but dude, straw polls don't mean much (as you somewhat pointed out). Look at the straw polls conducted in Iowa and NH and they don't reflect results at the primaries/caucuses.

"Who?" and it sort of builds into a conversation, hopefully spreading the word around. It might not mean a ton, but it does put his name out there (on top of Senator Davis endorsing him, who's a key dude in the SC primary) Go Ron!

Yes the Drudge report is a bit 1997 for a website. With so many users and so much information it should be a little bit better to look at, navigate. Any awesome site like this should have at least $100 spent on it to provide a date based slidebar filter. For a $1000 they could have a crazy jquery site that does everything it does now and a bit more. I visited it once, that was it, and I am sure there is heaps of good info as well. RP2012 - ask not what your country can do for you...
