a few years ago i had rabbits too- in germany we say to the little kind of rabbits *zwergkaninchen* :) i had a mini-rabbit (sorry but i dont't know how you say in english so i say mini-rabbit) with hanging ears like your cutie ones, germans say widder-zwergkaninchen - and my widder-zwergkaninchen have had babies! i was so happy - and they have look like yours - the same colour and they were pretty fat like yours ^^ ! the mothers name was moppel, the fathers name was balu.they still live!
The colouration of their coats is gorgeous, I particularly like the tortoise-shell like contrast between the tan and dark brown colours. {:>} ..They're beautiful!
in QLD, its because of the native wildlife and farms, they don't want bunnies at epic proportions. Australia has had atrocious feral rabbit problems in the past.
macabreblue...you're joking, right? Anyone can see they are domestic lops and the mother is well familiar with the handler. Besides, rabbits dont have an acute enough sense of smell to detect human touch.
Their mother died shortly following their birth and the orphans have been hand-reared. However, we do always handle our babies from just one day old as part of their early and ongoing socialisation. Our babies are always noticably tame and have no fear or apprehension towards humans.
i have a harlequin french lop and i love her more than anything in the world <3
