    Its a really great deal.

I need help ..thanks.

  • Hi, what class should i use with T3i? tks

  • ok, what would be the best card for a canon mark II 5d?/ I use it for short films, music videos, and possibly feature lengths (in the future) so which would be the best card for me to get class and gigs?

  • It is a bit weird seeing you looking at some point beside the lens, but thanks for this comparison!

  • Wait... What are classes? OMG, didn't even know about this. Hm. What GB should I get. I found an 8 GB SanDisk Class 10, is that good? Or should I get higher GB's? I have a Canon EOS 600D. :-)

  • does the PNY 8 gb class 10 work with the t2i? please help

  • sucks i wanted to get a 95 mbps but it wont give much more if any compared to the 30/45 on the t2i

  • I have an 8GB class 4 for my T3i . Can I change the settings on my camera to record longer ? Or do I need a larger class ?

  • thanks dude , it was useful !

  • hey i have a class 10 the exact same one you were showing, for my T2i and some times it works great, and other times its telling me that the video has automatically stopped working, and thats when i get into 5 sec worth of video. So is it still the card... i would to know thanks.

  • not this guy again!, informative, but stop with the gay ass endings. peace! I got a Sony Class 10, so far so good, but im a noob, so what do I know.

  • nokia 5800 = class 10 is good or bad?

  • I have a 32GB Class 10 Card, with 20Mb/s which can not handle the video of my 60D. Its retarded! -__-

  • I like your videos, but just recommending that you look into the camera when you talk. It makes the video better.

  • hello sir hope you could help me what sd card class to buy for a lumix fz150 im gonna be using it for pics and videos. video capture is hd 1080p 60fps avchd. hope you reply soon.

  • works with t3i?

  • cool..

  • You are super cute

  • @onelonedork I have 7 pny class 10 cards and 1- t2i and 2 - t3i's. Filming a movie and all three cameras and each card...cuts of at least 4-8 times before giving me a stable record. thats almost 500 dollars invested in cards..any advice anyone.

  • Are you reading a que card?!?

  • Thanks for posting this video :)

    It is very useful information.

I just ordered for a Sandisk class 10 30/s 16GB card, for my Canon 550D(T2i).

Hope it will be compatible with Magic Lantern installed!

    Cheers..

  • howcome u never look straight to your cam?

  • I have a 30mb/ps card that says EXTREME HD.

    AWWWWW yeaaaaa

  • i heard the 60D has issues recording even with class 10 sandisc 30mbps cards.... makes me very worried since im planning to get one. anyone know a solution?

  • Lol i just subscribed for the way you induced me to xD

  • Can u give me some advice? I just bought a Canon Rebel T3 (1100D) and i havent buy any memory card yet cuz i dont know what kind should i get for my DSLR Camera. I think i'll not get a lot of video in my Camera but i still use to get videos. Thank you,

  • the way he says "super awesome" makes me wanna buy that thing, whatever it is :) ..

  • thanks, class 10 is the best!! i have sandisk 30MB/s class 10 SDHC. am happy with it =)

  • hi i have tested the Sandisk 8gb Extreme 30MB/s class 10 in my T2i/550d works fine in the camera with my ML on bit rate 1.3, any higher just crashes, Just recieved my new Sandisk Extreme pro 32gb 45MB/s and seems to be no better than the 30MB/s card so waste of money for me!!!!, can anyone help???. ps tried all the low level formats but still no good.

  • I'm a proud owner of a GH2, I use it with class10 cards and it works superb.

sometimes I record for like 1 hour (only one small stop after 39,59 minutes) and he works still perfectly

  • I am using Duracell 4GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card and i get problems when I am recording video on my t2i. I am planning to upgrade. Any recommendations??

  • 2.13 onwards was THE BOMB haha enjoyed your video man

  • I'm glad I went all out with class 10 when I bought my 60D. Maybe you should remind your fans that these suckers can only record for 10 minutes at a time before it overheats. Maybe that's @mighk21's problem. I never had a problem with them. My wife thought thought the card was full when it stopped recording after 12 minutes. Yes, not ideal for weddings then.

  • @geyck sorry the recording time was not the problem genius =) its the card itself rated only at 20MB/s that cannot handle the data being stored.

  • i just received my t2i, this video made my day

  • So, higher class on the card means it's better at shooting video when you "swinging the camera around", but does it improve the quality in general? Does a Class 10 30MB/s get better quality than a Class 4 15MB/s, for example?

Also, what camera did you use when you shoot this video? It looks great even in 360p.

  • Cool hair Cut!

  • I have been using a class 4 and I never run into trouble

  • too many numbers my brain can't handle.... *explodes*

  • looser!

AVC and H264 are the same. T2i is 550D, not 60D.

  • @hardstepas you dont know shit

  • Class 10 ain't enough for video 30MB/s and above should be recommended, I have a transcend class 10 card which is rated 20MB/s and my 60d stops recording inadvertently. So please stop saying Class 10 is enough for taking videos.

  • @mighk21 All of the SDHC cards I use for filming are class 10. I've never had a problem. I've test class 6 cards that some times drop out and class 4 cards that drop out quit a bit. There is no harm in spending extra money on high end Sandisk 30MB/s cards if you like, but it's not a requirement.

  • @mighk21 I have several trancend, adata, pny, and wintech cards. Im sorry to hear you're having problems with your card. I have not had the same experience. It is very easy to run a speed check on your card to find out if the card is preforming properly. If it isn't, trancend has a warranty, just get an rma number and get it replaced.

  • @onelonedork Hi, will a class 10 work on my Sony a65?

  • @mighk21 it is likely you have opened the sd card door on your camera whilst switched on, in the camera menu format the card (back up anything on it you want obviously) and you should notice the problem no more

  • @bannerabc tried it and it still stops video recording inadvertently the point is trancend class 10 cards are only rated 20MB/s I believe you need 30MB/s card for it not to drop on you.

  • @mighk21 look buddy calm down, i have a 60d with 2 6gb calss 10 30MB/s and it has never stopped recording on me

  • @ddfilm92 Like I said you are using a 30MB/s card while I am using a Class 10 rated 20MB/s Trancend Card so I am suggesting the one that made this video to correct his statement claiming Class 10 card is enough for it not to stop recording inadvertently else buy a 30MB/s class 10 card.

  • @mighk21 try doing a low-level formart

  • @mighk21 I have the same problem with my Transcend class 10 16GB.

Have you figured out what's wrong ?

  • @ElFeilasouf I bought a sandisk extreme pro SDHC card rated upto 45MB/s and it never failed to record video, that is how I solved my problem with my Trancend card. Buy a card rated 30MB/s and above. The trancend card simply can't handle the amount of data being recorded since its only rated 20MB/s even though its a class 10 card

  • You solved my frustration with recording HD on my T2i using a Kingston Class 6 card. I wondered why the recording usually stops when the camera moves but doesn't if I kept it steady. Now I know to go with Class 10 (preferably a Sandisk). Why the camera companies don't just say go with Class 10 is beyond me. Instead they say Class 6 is the minimum requirement. Some people say a Sandisk Class 6 is good enough but I would rather be safe than try to save money.

  • always use the highest class...it just allows faster speeds..people should check out PNY technologies theyre cheap and good...i wish they would start using compact flash instead of SDHC in camcorders.

  • nvm fixed it.. Just formatted it, and now it works like a charm

  • @Mr54M yea if you delete those folders on the card you will have to reformatt the card

  • This seriously doesn't make sense?! I've got a trenscend 16gb class 10 card, and i've used like 1,92 gb out of 16gb.. But i can't record more then 13 - 14 seconds when i record on 720p 50f WTF???????! help please ):

    ps, loved your ending.

  • another great video

  • i found a 16gb class 10 Transcend with 15mb/s for 50€

im afraid 16gb are not enough if you dont have a pc near you.

  • so, will there be any problem with t2i and class 4 cards?

cause you got me worrying about that the data rate can increase if there is enough motion to capture. Is it gonna go above 4 mbytes/s?

  • THE SUBCRIBE BACKGROUND MUSIC IS FROM MR.BEAN Ending THEME HAHA

  • hi i have a sanyo vpc-ca102 and use a kingston sdhc class 6 card. from this video it seems like i have the right card for the device, but when i upload some videos to my computer its not very clear. However, when i watch the video on the device itself it is clear. Can you think of any reason for why this is happening or do you think its just my camera? its suppose to shoot 1080 60i/30p so i expect better quality footage.

  • @jahred22 my computer sometimes plays 1080p back choppy too. but im quite sure its because of my slow-ish computer. and my computer does seem to play youtube 1080p and 1080p blu ray movies fine.

  • @jahred22 it might have to do with the player itself. and then with your videocard.

im not sure what you have there but you should have a video card able to play hd footage and a video player that can give you some options. some of the players do messing around with black levels, interlacing and other stuff.

never hesitate to make a call to your camera's manufacturer.

  • This was seriously very helpful!

  • Hi. I do a lot of wedding videos and I was wondering how many hours a 32GB 60M/s Sandisk Compact Flash Cardcould take. Please advice.

  • @Bonabellfilms depends on your picture settings.

  • @Bonabellfilms 1.2hours at 1080p

  • @Bonabellfilms 32gb records 96 mins. in full hd on my 60d :)

  • @Bonabellfilms 7 hours ..

  • I just got a Canon 5D Mark II and a 32GB Sandisk 60M/s Compact flash Card and wondered how many hours I can shoot with. I do a lot of documentaries and cover occassiona like weddings and other ceremonies. Please advice.

  • Hi great videos, i've got a t2i and am heading to mongolia, I mostly use it for

photography but want to have the option of video while away.

have you any suggestions of transferring /backup video while backpacking and probably not having access to internet cafes, can't bring a laptop...

so far people are just saying to buy tons of memory cards and hope for the best.

  • @seequinn you might want to take a look at something like the Digital Foci Picture Porter or Digital Foci Photo Safe II (with a cf to sdhc adapter). These are battery powered hard drives that allow you to copy the photos off of your sdhc card with out a computer. Should make your trip a little easier.

  • Hello

I got a transcendent 32 GB sd card via ebay.uk

Now I film with a canon legria hf s200 and after 23 film shots, I get question marks for the next videos which I shoot :/

Do you know how this could be happening?

I did format the card several times, fixed it with my macbookpro, deleted and re-recorded. Still didn't help

  • @hybridnysten no idea, I have a transcend 32gb in my hf s100 and haven't had any problems.

  • @onelonedork I have found the problem. The card wasn't compatible with mac os X, only mac os

  • @hybridnysten Good to know.

  • The last segment "Subscribe", was that shot on a D60? or if not, what was the lens?

  • @MBMKruger shot on a 7d with a canon 35mm f1.4.

  • happen to know what the Nikon D3100 mb/s rate is ? kinda same as canon ? and i thinked about getting a class 6 cause my 2gb "non class" is kinda crap, one time the video stopped on its own.. ? and nikon homesite has a "approved memory card" list and the Transcend 8gb class 6 wasnt there, will it still work ? cause my old transcend worked, but its not on the supported list.. is the nikon site just wanting you to buy SanDisk and Verbatim which are just expensive for the brand :(

  • hi, i have a 16 gb class 10 card and for some reason it only record for 3 sec. do i have to format the card differently?

  • @sanoska206 You can check your card by running a test with Flash Memory Toolkit. You might have a defective card.

  • I don't think I learned much in this. Could have given us a range of examples...and please, look at the lens, not the screen facing you. It makes me stare into your eyes and wonder what you're doing. I can hardly concentrate on what you're saying...

  • @moviesunrated Stare into my eyes, you are getting sleepy! But seriously, send me a message with the examples you'd like to see and I'll add it to my list of things to do. Thanks for watching!

  • @onelonedork Can you show us the effects when you swing your camera around with the different cards? Like out and about or something/in different lighting. Promise to do it and I'll subscribe!

I know it's difficult to stare into the lens and not the screen, but please try and avoid it. It makes the video much better when looking directly into the lens.

  • Your info is not correct I have a Class 4 with 10mb/s and can still record with the t2i on full HD 30P with allot of movements.

  • @chungdha The info is correct. Some lower class cards can preform higher, but they are only guaranteed by the manufacturer to preform at the rate listed on the card. So you can spend your money on a class 4 card and hope it works or on a class 10 card that is rated to work.

  • @onelonedork But you are saying that the class numbers are the numbers of the data rate which is not correct. Class 4 does not mean it does 4mb/s at all, class 4 is just a certain class and does not say what the actual performace is. As also for Class 10 does not do 10mb/s its way faster than that.

  • @chungdha The IEEE Standards for sdhc cards list the minimum data rates for each class rating. Class 4 is 4MB/s minimum, Class 10 is 10MB/s minimum. Manufacturers can list rates higher then this and you will often see ratings with "up to 18MB/s". So in perfect conditions with just the right packet size they saw their card reach 18MB/s, but as a Class 10 card it's still only guaranteed to preform at a minimum of 10MB/s. Read the data sheets.

  • @chungdha Let me ask you this, I'm about to buy a SanDisk - Extreme HD Video 8GB Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Memory Card, which is a class 10. You said you have a class 4 and get full HD. How long can you record before the recording just stops by itself automatically? The card says it can record like an hour straight, but how much time do you get out of your card recording before it stops and what kind of card do you have?

  • @rhashad88 Depends on which camera you got, but on my t2i without ML it would film till it hits the 4GB limit which is with all the SD cards which has a 4gb limit which is around 12minutes. If you use Magic Lantern you can lower the bitrate and able to pass 12minutes but but there still is a 29.59 limit on the Camera itself cause they limit the camera so it is sold not as a film camera which can film for a long time. I got a Toshiba 16gb Class 6 with 20mb/s writing speed and Class 4 with 10mb/s.

  • @rhashad88 And you dont rate a SD card on how long you can shoot with it before it stops cause it would always stops when the sd card is full when there is no limit. Filming Full HD on DSLR has al kinds of limits. But on a real HD camcorder you have compression which still does nog need really fast cards yet. Until we all film with 1080 60P we might stop with using certain cards but if your writing speed it 10mb/s it should handle 1080 30p without a problem.

  • Seriously... the most epic subscribe request I have ever seen. Subscribed good sir.

  • @washu1049 Thanks!

  • Thanks for the information! I'm planning on getting a point & shoot, not a DSLR. But, I was wondering, what would you suggest for the Canon Powershot G12?

  • @Riveroflife1221 class 6 or 10 should be more then enough for the G12.

  • I use a free program that measures the speed of SD/CF cards, it's called H2testw. No need to guess if your card is performing as it should.

  • @Olphus very true, the only problem is that you have to have the card before you can test it.

  • Please help me out. Wich card should i use for the 5D MK 2?

  • @fatf I've got a video on that, Canon 7d Compact flash card for video mode in 1080p and 720p, swing over to my channel and check it out!

  • There is a few things to note alongside this video. Just because a card is a class 10 does not mean it writes at 10MBs/s. There are cheap knockoff cards that brand their card as class 10 but writes more along the lines of a class 4. and its not necessarily motion that is going to cause the buffering to become to much. I was shooting a music video with my camera tripoded and was using a cheap class 10 that worked the prior 6 months, but the shot was so detailed that it overbuffered and stopped

  • @StereoBreedMedia True, I have heard of ebay sellers that re-brand class 2 cards to class 10. If it's class 10 it is "supposed to" meet the slandered, but some foreign sellers don't have to comply. Also Motion can be one cause, but high contrast areas, high detail areas, and major changes in a scene set scene can also cause the same problem. I was shooting a scene with candy poured over an actress. As soon as those colors hit the screen that class 6 card was done for. Had to use the 7d.

  • When I had my Canon T2i, I used a Kingston Class 4 card and it always worked well. No problems with choppy playback.

  • @CheckThisGadget Playback has never been a problem on these cards, it is mostly recording that's the issue. Every once in awhile a lower class card will "over preform", but it's much more often that they just barely meet the class they are labeled at. Maybe you got lucky, hard to say.

  • i have a nikon d3100 mine says 15mb/s is that good or bad

  • @JazzeRae360 The Nikon d3100 could easily get away with a class 6 card for video mode. I think the max bit rate on the d3100 is actually 20Mb/s but that compared to 45Mb/s on canon cameras. I thought Nikon would have given a little more on the new d7000 but even that camera is capped at 24Mb/s.

  • lol it's the second time i correct you (i feel like a shmock..): Canon 35mm **f1.4

  • @crysisguy05 I should just start running my write ups by you before I post. I always seem to miss something.

This time i was looking at the sigma 24mm f1.8 on the t2i when i was typing. Keep up the good work!

  • Real men use CF-cards

  • @AdurianJ I do prefer CF cards(faster, stronger, better), but if you own a t2i or a 60d your out of luck. I currently have to keep both in stock as i have the 7d and t2i.

  • @onelonedork

Well they are good for the H4n or any 500D you keep as a paper weight somewhere, should you need it.

  • @AdurianJ SDHC cards just aren't rugged enough.

  • @onelonedork

Then teach me how to put a CF-card in the H4n ;)

  • @AdurianJ Trade up to a fostex fr2. Problem Solved!

  • good info, thanks!

  • Very explanatory! Keep up the good vids! :)

  • dude, i love your videos!!
