  • I did not know this came out for the Jaguar. I have it for the 32X and that is a pretty translation of the arcade.

  • presented in 3D sound... ohhhhhh! yes!

all jokes beside, this looks nicer than the SNES and Genesis

  • LOL wow im sure glad i didnt marry an atari...the divorce wouldve been god awful.

  • is that a beach ball?

  • This is really a fantastic console translation of NBA Jam TE. This one and the 32x version are probably the two closest to the arcade with the edge going to the Jaguar version IMO.

  • if it was on the snes what would i press to get will smith?

  • @michaelandtyson: According to GameFAQs: "At the name-entry screen, place the cursor over the letter ''W'', then hold Start and press Y. Now, move the cursor over to the ''I'', then hold Start and press B. Finally, highlight ''L'' and just press A."

  • The music during the game reminds me of "Hwa Jai's" stage music from Fatal Fury

  • haha, I thought hidden character "gor" was gonna be Al Gore!

    hahahaha

  • Not as good as arcade version

  • ball passing is like snuffle :O

  • 3-D Sound! Whoa. Atari was ahead of its time.

  • 0:02 presented in 3-D sound too! lol Excellent port!

  • wow the music is really stupid, but i do like the Sound FX and graphics. i've been playing the ps1 version because i can play it on my ps3 and connect 4 controllers no problem. can't wait for the new game! mostly the ps3 release over the wii. but i'll get both cos i'm gangster like dat

  • the music is from the game? it is not bad

  • I never liked the big heads...

  • This is by far the best version of NBA Jams I've played.

  • One of the few Jag games worth playing

Atari had no idea what they were doing beyond the 2600

  • From downtown!

  • By far the best port of the arcade version. The only problems are the cheesy music, on court sound effects (dunking, passing etc.), crowd not cheering unless basket scored (no "AAAIIIIIRRR BAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL"), and no backboard shattering.

This version still beats the PS1 version though.

Also, was this put up in anticipation of the new NBA Jam game by EA?

  • @SonicXisnow2009: Yeah, hearing about the new NBA Jam made me want to go back and play the older one.

  • @SonicXisnow2009 I have the NBA JAM SNES version frtom back when. I still play and like it.

  • @SonicXisnow2009 I dont believe there is any backboard shattering in TE. That was in the original and I dont think was put into TE on any version that I've found.

  • @SonicXisnow2009 the arcade music wasnt really good either. Actually I like the Jags music better but they should of just made it like the arcade's so they could have not had that notch against them whether or not people liked it better or not.

  • Prince Charles?!

    lol

  • the ball can't go out of bounds? 1:16

and you can pass back the ball even AFTER passing the mid-line? 1:25

  • @SmartBoy16: Yeah, NBA Jam is definitely not a realistic simulation, it's just arcade-style fun.

  • @SmartBoy16 NBA Games aren't 2-on-2 full contact either!!

  • @SmartBoy16 I was quite irked at the fact that the ball caught on fire if certain circumstances were met. What were they thinking?

  • @SmartBoy16 ur obviously a youngin

  • Bill Clinton! XD

Isn't he a little too old to be playing?

  • A much better basketball game than White men can't jump

  • Awesome.

  • omg nice :D

  • lol those secret characters owns
