Hi and personally wouldn't know much of any thing if wasn't for you, for me I have had the best success and great heals by setting a hair over the nickel so it bogs down to the nickel, haven't had problems with shading since I ask u over a year ago. Thank you.
i did a tatt today with moms outlining and i still had problems like the needle penetrates fine but ink wont .. it either wont come out at all or very little at that
@daonenonlydj was it moms off a ebay or from a kit? thats fake . assuming you have machine set proper , beginners should use a sculpting liner set up not a single pass liner as it runs way too fast . lighter tension 4mmgap , nickle worth of needle sticking out , 45 deg angle ,ALSO that may be coloring ink, not liner ink . coloring ink has glycerin , too much and it wont stick to the needle liner ink should be fluid not thick , see my BLACK INK vid .
@daonenonlydj the issue of not laying ink with a liner ? usually not so much a problem getting a solid hit with a liner as most mean short stroke when they say liner , there are other factors suchj as proper ink , ( useing thinner liner ink not coloring ink ) and holding a 45 deg angles . are other possibilities ,
kool idea, def. will try that..I had to talk someone out of a white tiger tattoo a few weeks ago too I wont do an all white tatt, not worth going through all that to have it fade out n a few years ....thanks for answering me on that..keep up the vids, love them :)
not a comment but a question ,I have always had trouble with white ink, never seems to go well for..does ok sometimes on something small like a claw or teeth but much bigger doesnt do well at all..what can I do so it works better ? thanks
@Ricky039 other than using good ink like eternal ,...not mutch . white is translucent and will not show bold like other colors. depending on skin color it will very . i suggest you not use pure white adding a touch of light blue or what ever color would be in the art as a reflecting light source color will look natural and show better
Thank the tattoo gods for your vid u answered a question that has 1 of my customers tats fading and I had no clue as it hasn't happened to any other clients. Yay for online advice and experienced dudes who will share their knowledge :)
@tattootraining thank to you & the info you provide in your vids my machines are running @ there best, i wish i had question for you to aswer but iv watched all vids a few times over &and they've aswered every question i have had about tattooing so far, i hope to see more in the upcoming future, excellant work man
what about the time issue ? so if i have it running at full stroke but it seems to take a long time to get through the design what should i do as ive tryd this and dont wanna turn up the v too much and shred dudes up
@stinkygusto time ? take all you can , better to do a second sitting if need be. and voltage has nothing to do with speed. of the machine . its to make the hit harder. have you ever heard about how to hold the stretch of the skin ? this will help also . 3 point stretch . so you FEEL the vibration of the needle in the stretcher hand ?
Hi, I was wondering if using acrylic paint (for crafts and such) would make good tattoo ink? Also, would using a guitar string motor machine be a good plan, cause that's what I've used so far...
@tat2edsinner it doesnt matter , the power supply readout is all useless. you cannot adjust a machine with a power supply other than the voltage , voltage is all that matters and what the voltage is depends on a number of factors so asking anyone what number something is at really is pointless. the hertz comes from your cap and voltage , you adjust the voltage based on the hit needed for any given set up so again saying a machine runs at X is not relevant to everyone
@coyalino what do you mean "too painful" compared to what ? it hurts you will get used to it , as long as the needle is not bent and the power is not excessive it is as good as it gets
@TATTOOTRAINING The gap distances is slightly more than 2 nickles and is running a duty cycle of %35-%40. Spring tension is between 300g and 350g. I have 3 machines I'm trying this with and they all fall between these ranges. And they all usually start at 11 volts.
Also I don't know if it's the machines I'm using but sometimes when I'm tuning the machines and I just touch or hold the vice grip without a needle and tube and it bogs down the machine. What's up with that? Thanks!
Great job on the videos! Have a question...When i set up my color machine it doesn't flutter like yours and Joshua Carlton's machine. Am I doing something wrong? My color tattoos aren't as bright as I think they should when they heal and I have to keep going over it after it heals in order for the color to stay... Is it my machine set up?
@MarLouie1 what is the gap distance and spring tension ? A STILL image is%50 , A SLOW WAVE doesnt start until is %45 or more , (a single fluorescent light makes it easier to see more detail in movement)
@vazartz you dont just adjust a machine to use as a liner or whatever, you assemble it , tune it for what your going to use it for. you dont just turn a screw and call it a liner, see some other videos i have , lick the video listing how each machine is set up according to springs their tensions coils capacitor , stroke and so on.
interesting video, i never thought of it that way as far as the nickle gap goes. my only question is where do u get that bumper from and how do i put it on my machine.
@MrJohnnyINK yes it will bog a small bit because it is a long stroke regardless of a mag or round , , but you dont want it to not put in the ink if it bogs too much because it is not hitting hard enough then it will not go in and you will overwork it trying to get it in ,
Im new to tattooing about 4mo.Im only working on myself, why would my tattoo's heal with a shinny look plus be dry for weeks and heal with a wrinkle look?Is it that im not strecthing the skin enough?color go's in prett fast most of the time.Any HELP would be nice THANKS
@Ink4life1000 you probably shouldnt even be working on your self , your overworking the shit out of them because your machines are running too hard , it may go in fast but it may be TOO fast it sound like you r hammering it in , first be sure that you have the machine tuned properly , what needle are u using ?
you guys have some great videos, these videos are awesome for me because you really make every detail as important as the next.... I like to learn slow.. that may sound funny but you learn better.. it saturates the mind that way....
thanks for the video, but in my case i have a problem with the springs, i what to buy a set from eikon, can you tell me what size shoud be for a color packer and a good shader?thank you
So really what you are saying is that if the air gap is a dime or a nickel it should be spot on and no other numbers matter, as far as a meter is concerned/?
THAT IS REALLY HELPFULL... THANKS A LOT BRO!!! CUZ I'M BARELY STARTING TO TATTOO, AND SO FAR I HAVEN'T DO ANY COLOR YET, BUT IF I DO, I'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO PEACE OUT... AND THANX AGAIN
@Zombieblake83 start low and turn up to the point it starts to tap the front coil , it has a short gap so it already has more power so when it starts taping the front coil it shouldnt bog down , if it does then add a little more , liners dont bog down
I saw in this video that you use PRIMA INKS...are they easy to put into skin?? Someone gave me a set of 14 MOMS INKS but they are thick!!! and for some odd reason the ink stays stuck in the needles and does not flow on the kin....i just freakin bruised a tiny bit of my skin trying to put in the ink..can you tell me what i am doing wrong? I also wanted to say thank you for all your nice tutorials...
@vespinozalanyi no because the skin makes the needle back down a bit so only about a dime or so can drive in , and the taper of a needle is all you need to go in . this is why you dont want too much power
@1stdarknightslayer you set a nickle or a hair more of needle past the tip , you set the power so it will only reduce the amount of needle by a dime or less , not so it reduces it so there is only a dime left . it needs to have more than a dimes worth after you apply pressure to the needle ( or the nipple).
@91zone ah yes i will be covering that in a few days , i put a small dab of blue RTV silicone on the armature bar , but if you want the real deal they are now available from the makers of the welker machines at eternaltattoosupply
@onethatsnottaken rotaries are not for beginners , as they dont have the give of a coil machine . they can be used but in a limited way . look at the neuma hybrid it can run on a power supply , but really most people who want a rotary are just INTIMIDATED BY THE COIL , dont be
Very helpful videos!!

No it wasnt off of ebay.. Id eternal ink good for linung and the 4mm is it from the armature bar to the coils or the bar to the front spring
daonenonlydj 3 months ago
@daonenonlydj eternal is great ... for color they have "triple black" but for lining you want "Lining Black"
neither, the gap is from the front spring tip to the contact screw , watch my machine settings videos
