  • dear santa..

  • You know what...my two greatest ambitions in life were: 1.) To meet Princess Diana in real life and 2.) Fly on Concorde. Sadly, those two dreams will never, ever come true for me now.

  • @cupcakefairy87

    I miss the 90's so much :/

  • What a beauty. Jst love it.... Wish U should be there in Service 2day.

I think they should remake CONCORDE.... Jst love it....

  • Remember when we were lucky enough to get stopped by it's crossing I'd stick my head out the sunroof screaming "Concorde" ha!

  • I used to cycle home under the flight path of concorde as I crossed the Thames on my commute home every day. Sadly this is a sight my kids will never experience. Concorde - the world is a lesser place without you

  • stop! Concorde crossing!

  • THE ONLY AIRWAYS IN THE WORLD THAT CROSSED THE SOUND BARRIER,

    BRITISH AIRWAYS CONCORDE.

BRITISH AIRWAYS = ART OF FLYING.

  • @SHUKLAPATELA To be fair, Air France flew Concordes as well.

  • 2 people disliked this video ! -_-' ?

Probably fans of Easy Jet and Ryan Air

  • I'v been in that it's soo fast and scary:)

  • BOAC - British Overseas Airways Corporation, as I remember it, was THE world's favourite airline!

  • It still happens, they have just closed that road off to traffic and pedestrians.

  • B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!

  • I saw this clip in 2008 loved it, have been searching since 2008 and finally today i found it lol :)

  • @hzhenrik Thanks for persevering! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Great clip, and if I'm not mistaken, its 4th October 2003, as I was in the lounge in Heathrow T4 at the time awaiting its arrival around 5 mins after you watched the road crossing happen.

A great flight that afternoon too...

  • @Supersonic72 Wow; that's a remarkable coincidence! I bet you had a flight of a lifetime. I know I did when I flew G-BOAD.

  • Even though I'm a 747 lover the British Airways/Air France Concordes always have fascinated me when they flew over NY RIP CONCORDE

  • I remember seeing Concorde between 2000-2002 when I flew alone through T4 with BA. Sad reality that she is retired now.

  • between the song and the ending of this jet; its just too sad. i want it back

  • This aircraft puts the A380 to shame

  • @WiiForever302 Well yeah <3 its far more beautiful, but i think its unfair to say it makes the A380 shameful, the A380 is indeed better in a number of ways, its more efficient, more modern, easier to fly, but yeah concord, concord shall always be special.

  • haha i like the tiny wheel in the back

  • that is.. pretty epic.

  • song name plz

  • @SO19pg1 just a jazzed up version of a classical piece called "LAKME "

hope you find it eventually :)

  • no way would that happen now a days after 911

  • @roryj123ok That WAS after 9/11!

  • keep an eye out of one taking to the sky again soon they have one still tucked away in hanger ready to use for the opening of the games here in 2012

  • @pgeater i hope youre right

  • great video! made my day! although i'm more of a 777 & 787 person :)

  • @mTDI Thanks mTDI - I'm glad you liked it!

  • Anyone else spotted the registration code for the aircraft? Pity BA may not be with us much longer! (Just like the registration code!) I suspect someone with the initials RB is arranging finance to buy BA out!

  • they have billions in the bank they will NEVER go

  • Some peoples comments about it 'just' being an aircraft are idiotic. Concorde was an engineering marvel and a piece of art that will forever stay with us. (This isn't just an aircraft, it's a human achievement)

  • @Q1nn ...Yes anddyx...you must be a numbskull or an American kid..or both...One things for sure, the USA will never be capable of such an engineering acheivement with such style and grace....So you will never go on your Hols at Mach 2 either...got it?.

  • Oh my goodness. She was so beautiful. I used to pull up alongside her and never, ever did I mind the BOOOM over my flat. Class.

  • Heathrow to JFK in 3 hours, u fucking knobjockey shes not just an aircraft.

  • yeah, just an aircraft. not a time machine, you dipstick.

  • get lost, it's a SPECIAL aircraft.

  • SPECIAL. you're easily aroused. A "SPECIAL aircraft".

  • No other words for it , she's stunning. I'm sorry i never got to fly on her. Biggest regret of my life!!!

  • agree, same here....

  • I wish I had to!

  • i wish i rode it before it discontinued....

  • I went on BA001 in 1998 - my 40th birthday

  • Lovely...thank you...I had the pleasure of working on Concorde for 7 years.....many happy memories...

  • Lucky guy! Got any pictures?

  • Not stolen. Appropriately borrowed.

  • Music is stolen from Lakmé (Delibes)

  • She was one traffic stopping beauty. Still is. Lovely tribute. Well done mate.

  • @applesky007 Thanks applesky007!

  • great video mate i will always concorde she was a beast nice one mate 5stars and fav

  • Ahhh The eastchurch crossing gates!!! Reminds me of many a night shift in the fog being stuck there in a patrol car guarding them while they were stuck open!!!!! Real shame that she has gone ;-(

  • Wicked vid shame to see concsorde go. She was awsome..That looks pretty cool concorde driving down a road!

  • i flew on that same old girl G-BOAC LGLL-JFK in 99

  • so pleased that i flew on the old girl once ... LHR-JFK BA001 in 1999 ... bye bye "rocket"

  • In the last few seconds we see South African Airways in the corner.

  • what is the name of the song on this vid

  • The Concorde was grounded just because it was not a cost-effective aircraft. Huge operational costs were the aircraft's downfall, despite the innovative technology. Still, the Concorde remains a milestone yet to be overcome

  • timeee toooo saaay gooood byyeeee!!(8)(8) =C

  • nooooo don't leave us Concorde!! best aircraft in the world.

  • This was a stunning aircraft. Even tho I had the privilege of working around it, it stopped me in my tracks every time it passed over me. I blew it a kiss every time. If what had happened to it in Paris had happened to a 747 they would never have been grounded. God knows the Paris Fire Brigade/Checkers/US aircraft debri had a lot to answer for. They took away our Concorde. When you see genius and beauty in your lifetime, take a picture, it may never come your way again.

  • I would have expected a 2 hour wait for concorde to get on the other side of the road. Still it is the fastest supersonic jet in the world.

  • commercial aircraft

  • No - it really isn't. Many military aircraft can't achieve faster speeds, and the TU-144 is the fastest airliner ever.

I'm stating fact, but i'm not saying Concorde is bad. When it comes to aircraft, Concorde is the best of the bunch.

  • Such a feet of enginering , Its beautiful......

  • Even when this bird is being towed and not in the air she looks awesome.

Surely the most beautiful civil airliner to ever have been created!

  • Someone please tell me what the music is called !

    Its driving me nuts....

    Thanks for sharing..

  • Lakme from Delibe

  • type in Yanni aria and its there

  • ci sono salito su questo concorde!!!al museo di new york Intrepid!!!bellissimo ed emozionante!

  • good bye baby, sad that some of you got your wings clipped

  • Wings clipped?

    What are you on about?!

  • several of the concorde that were shipped around to be turned into exhibits, had their wings clipped because of size issues

  • Here we go...

I do realise that 18 of the 20 aircraft built are exhibits.

I do realise that some of them were transported by other means rather than flying.

Their wings were disassembled for transportation, but were obviously put back afterwards, so I dunno why you said it's sad - because they got them put back on.

    Why the hell wouldn't they?!

  • 2 of them ... since forgot the tail numbers

had them shortened by 6 inches perminantly for storage concerns

its sad because its denied flight basically, like what you do to a bird ... yes ok exaggeration, but it probably deserves it

  • That is the biggest load of rubbish ever, I know for a fact that that is totally untrue and outrageous.

  • And why does it deserve it?

  • It is shit that this machine don't fly anymore.

  • 1/3

I remember in 1978 being a small boy (about 6) at a air show. We were standing as close to the runway as permitted. At that age Concorde was stuff every little boy dreamed of. We all wanted to grow up and be a Concorde pilot. Sitting on my dads shoulders i remember seeing her start the take off run, getting faster and closer to us with every second. Overwhelmed with excitement, pulse racing and fixated in magical wonder as she rotated right level of us. ......

  • 2/3

.....The noise was defining. I was yelling out but could not hear my voice. The air shook and the vibration went right through my body down to the bone. Memories of that childhood moment and the excitement it gave me has stayed with me always. Last year i was at Duxford looking at Concorde. Not far from me there was a father with a couple of kids about the age i was back in 1978. They were looking with.....

  • 3/3

...interest and it made me feel a little sad for them. They were just looking at a lifeless exhibit and I thought...your never going to see it alive, hear that noise, feel that vibration or experience for yourselves what it was that blew apart the mind of that little 6 year old boy all those years ago. Sod the expense of it. Few thing have captured the imagination like this aircraft. There were other options on the table that would have kept this dream alive. Instead they let it die.

  • Thanks for your memories

    bommmmmmmm!

  • watching that makes me feel sad and ashamed to work for the company who since, hold no reverence for once operating the pinacle of civil aviation and have not expressed one iota of imagination of what to do with her since. I expect they actually want her off the airfield an out the books for good!

  • No. They don't.

  • No BA does. Singapore Airlines were only "sharing" it for a SHORT period of time.

    Get your facts right!

  • what a lovley site

  • What a beautiful aircraft she was. Never had the chance to fly in her but was in G-BOAG in the Seattle Air Museum, and the prototype at Duxford. Love the BA Commercials! Best Airline Ive flown long haul! Dave in Dublin

  • Pre-production at Duxford, not prototype.

  • Proud to be British, I really miss flying on Concorde!

  • Sounds as if you flew on Concorde a lot. Hmm...

  • nice aircraft, but not a good airway!!!

  • It's called an airline.

  • Beutiful bird.....

  • The death of this jet didn't have to happen

  • thank you for putting this here

  • Thank you for visiting!

  • Concorde had a life expectancy up to 2010

  • It looks as fresh as the day it was born!

  • i respect the concorde more then the 747-400.

  • British Airways the world's favorite airline and the world's favorite aeroplane.

  • I agree my friend :D

  • ba is da bomb

  • concorde is the best plain ever and that must of been the best sight ever lol

  • magnificent!!!

  • bellissimoooo

  • Boeing are designing a new super sonic passenger jet looks totally diffrent to the concorde great video!

  • No theyre not. And if you mean the Sonic Cruiser, it flies just under the speed of sound and therefore is subsonic. The project was cancelled 2-3 years ago.

  • Its a shame that future generations will never know how spectacular this aircraft was and what could be achieved in the 1960's. One day there will be a replacement that will be faster , safer & more fuel efficient but it would never hold a candle to Concorde and probably be characterless , Blue skies forever Concorder!

  • this plane is really cool! (H)

  • I rode with it last Tuesday in Sinsheim, Germany, it is real but in a museum, it is fantastic really, I imagine flying with it...

  • Stephend, it's amazing.

    Congratulations

  • Thank you yobeakay!

  • Brilliant video and music - a sight never to be seen again.........Supersonic>>>>>>

  • They Also Towed The Historical One That Was Sitting On The Tarmac At Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 The Green Air Force One

  • what termanal is this

  • it wouldnt be much pain if you were oferd to drive the concorde around though

  • dont be rude

  • i agree what a pain u have to drive all way round the ba hangers to get to bloody harlington corner....my dad used to work in there when i was a kid, and i remember going over there in the sixt's...long time ago..

Like the music by the way, bit different from me usual motorhead and stuff...

  • was this the last concorde to fly from jfk

  • Ver Cool - thanks for posting!

  • this concorde G-BOAC is the one at manchester that i toured on

  • Such a shame they closed that road, but it was inevitable. Thanks a lot to those damned terrorists! I still think it was a bit pointless closing the road, and yet still allowing people to board flights with their faces and bodies covered by religious clothing, and not properly identified. Just go to terminal 3 departures and you'll see it all.

  • whilst doing my basic training at army training regiment pirbright, i used to love seeing concorde come over, it is sorely missed! it was the only thing that could make everyone stop and look up, no matter how many times you had seen her.

  • no coz its jet power would destroy anything that close to it

  • why is it being towed? cant it taxi

  • Yes it can taxi, but with the fuel consumption it is much cheaper to be towed to position.

  • ok thanx

  • why just one crash then its out of service? how many times have boeings crashed? or dc-9s? but they are still in busness!

  • Well the crash was because the tyre burst on take off and a large piece hit the fuel tank in simple terms so alot of money had to be done on basically redesigning the plane such as making it have thicker tyres stronger fuel tanks e.t.c. and it got to the stage of being far too expensive to maintain as passenger numbers were falluing aswell.

  • i wish this was still in service.i could not imagine being on a plane for over 10 hours to get somewhere when there was once a plane that could get you there in about 3..maybe one day it will be back in service and i will get to go to london...

  • yjey might fly concords in 2010 or 2012

  • a BA Concorde and 747 side by side. Possibly the best image in the world

  • Too bad those things don't fly anymore. They brought one to Reno once! I was 5, and I wanted to ride it soo bad XD

  • looks a bit cloudy for such a gresa airline

    sang by........... Aria by Yanni

  • i love the concorde it is the sexyest plane evar built by mankind!!!

  • I am only 7 years old, but in my life I bet nothing will ever beat it. I love concord.

  • an someonetell me why is teh concordnot in service anymore please email me ok

  • because it crashed.

  • No, not because it crashed at all - they spent a lot of money on an extensive successful return-to-service modification plan after the crash.

The downturn in premium transatlantic business travel after 9/11 was the main reason, particularly fro Air France. BA may have got through that, but Airbus' withdrawal of the type certificate was the nail in the coffin.

  • Nice : ) ty for uploading it

  • Someone knows who is singing this music?

  • The song is Aria by Yanni

It was written for the British Airways ad (do a YouTube search for 1989 British Airways Commercial to see it), and was inspired by French opera called Lakme by Leo Delibes.

    Album: Dare To Dream (1992)

  • Hello Stephend,

    I appreciated your reply.

    Thank you very much.

    Very Best Regards.

    Silvio

  • My pleasure Silvio! Thanks for viewing my video.

  • Stephend,

    It´s amazing! Congratulations!

    Silvio

  • I miss seeing the Concorde.

  • I saw the Concorde a few times at Heathrow in the late 90's. I'll never forget what the supersonic aircraft looked like.

  • vraiment tellement elle est bien j'ai mis le maximum pour les estimation

  • Oh, I used to see the concorde all the time when I lived in London.

    I miss it.

    Go British Airways!

  • I am planning on starting up an airline called Bradley Jets! When I am successful, and have money that I can invest into the concorede. I will pay the company who make concorde (who is it? boeing?) to make me two new concorde aircrafts! I will work with them to develope the Concorde Duo! It will be up-to-date with all the latest safety requirments so there can not be any complaints! Then I will proudly be able to announce the return of the concorde, the concorde duo!

  • The company that used to make Concordes was Airbus

  • No it was british aerospace and aerospatle

  • Este video me parece muy interesante, mil felicitaciones a You Tobe por publicar material de este tipo...Saludos desde Maracaibo-Venezuela

  • she's beautiful.

  • those bastards will bring that thing back... yess yess... they will...

  • I certainly hope so!!!!! This thing is the best and most beautiful airplane the world has ever seen.

  • was one of the one's that was able to fly on the concorde 1st August 2003 will always stop with me... did arrive at heathrow in plenty of time to enjoy the concorde lounge the champagne, the food the Molton & Brown massage loved it... and all the planes having to wait till the little beauty took off getting us to New York in 3hrs 24mins

    Miss ya Concorde

  • The finest aircraft to grace the skies, I think the political scene may have also swayed the 'thinking' behind grounding the concorde. whatever it was i am just glad to have made it to JFK in 2hrs and 52mins.

    What a machine.

  • it's possible, few people are trying to give its wings again, before they can give its wings back to the concorde, they will need to find what cables go to where, and find ALOT of hydrulic fluid... becuase before retirement of the concorde, they disconnected the crucial cables that made it able to fly, and removed every single drop of hydrulic fluid..... i really hope boeing can overcome the a380 becuase airbus didnt support the concorde so thats why the concorde lost its wings for flight.

  • she is a beautiful plane. Even though it might be dead now it will be brought back to life once agian. Except this time it won't die ever......

  • ouh t'es nul

  • she'll be back [:

  • sadly taken from the skies before her time, R.I.P speedbird

  • nice video!!

  • We shall miss SST.

  • very nice!!
