A "mucker" is more often called a "ringer" in horseshoes. The shoe lands with both of its end points past the post, scoring three points. If your opponent has a ringer and you then throw a ringer of your own, you "cancel" his, and there is no score.

Hey! My husband and I met when he stepped up to throw ducks and he bounced them off the wood! Not really. Got a love song for rappelling off a tower? By the way, I've observed people playing horseshoes in the movies but there never were any ducks to be seen.
